  • 2 Welcome

Welcome to Touchstone Whiteboard Software 1Touchstone Whiteboard Software 1 transforms Touchstone Students Book 1 into digital multimedia software. We have selected those elements of the Students Book that are most useful to have available as software for whole-class activities exercises that teachers need to present in class and have turned them into interactive whiteboard activities, or learning objects. These can be used on a fully functioning interactive whiteboard or with a computer linked to a data projector.

The software has a number of features that allow you to manipulate the material. These features will enhance your teaching of the course in the classroom, while also improving the language-learning experience for your students. A key feature of the software is the integration of text and audio in a way that has not been possible in the past. Now you can view the audio scripts at the click of a button, and highlight a sentence to hear it played in isolation, either at normal speed or more slowly. We have also made Touchstone Video 1 available within the software, allowing you to bring the video to class without having to use a separate video player.

In addition to the learning objects provided for Touchstone Students Book 1, you can easily supplement the material to meet specific student needs. The interactive whiteboard (or projected computer image) provides a window on the world with access to the Internet and other resources, such as video or materials you have created yourself, that you might want to bring into the language-learning classroom. In other words, you have complete flexibility in the way you teach.
