Girls Cricket Last Monday, the Milton PS Girls cricket team played a blinder with Ulladulla PS. After bowling out the opposition for 120 in the last over through committed fielding and teamwork, they began the chase. Jessica Barr led the chase with a personal top score of 33 runs, supported well by Annabelle Healey. Then it was time for the captain of the century to step up. After leading like a pro throughout the match, Tahleena Jones stepped up, taking on the responsibility of the chase. It came down to the last ball with Milton requiring 3 runs for victory. Tahleena ensured she was on strike, shouldering the burden. Then…never was a sweeter shot played in the glorious game of cricket and as that ball raced fine of square leg to the boundary the girls entered the history books and round two against Illaroo PS in the upcoming weeks. Other figures of note – Tahleena 27 not out, 3 wkt & 1 catch. Leila Pepperell 2 wkts. Annabelle Healey 1 wkt & 1 catch. Zara Neil 2 wkt & 1 catch. Everyone played a huge role and most importantly had fun! Well done girls!

Parent/Teacher Interviews—Term 1, Week 9 Parent/teacher interviews are an integral part of our reporting process at MPS. This year we have decided to modify the way we conduct interviews with an aim of more open and transparent communication. Interviews will take place this term, during Week 9, from 25
th – 29
th March. This will be an opportunity for you to share 1-1 your child’s individual needs with the
teacher and for the teacher to communicate where they are at in this early stage in the year. Students will bring home a note this week regarding their class interview day. We ask parents/carers to complete the notice with your preferred times and return to the class teacher as soon as possible. This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with the teachers about your child’s academic, social and behavioural progress as the year progresses. We look forward to meeting with you. Confirmation information will be sent home with students.

Boys PSSA Cricket Milton played against Ulladulla in the second round of the PSSA Knockout competition last Friday at Ulladulla Sporting Complex. Our captain, Cameron, won the toss a decided to bat first. Milton had a shaky start losing 3 early wickets to be 3-8 off 4 overs. Cameron and Thomas then settled in with a partnership of 33 runs. Unfortunately when Cameron got run out for 10 there was a collapse with Ulladulla taking 4 wickets for no runs. At the end of the innings Milton were all out for 50 runs off 18 overs. Thomas was our top scorer with 23 runs. Ulladulla settled in and blocked some accurate bowling from Cameron, Lachlan, Thomas and Reece. They were 0-34 off 10 overs when Harry took a great catch off Thomas’ bowling and next ball Thomas clean bowled the batsman to be on a hat trick. Suddenly it was 2-34 but wasn’t to be our day with Ulladulla getting the runs required to win off 17 overs with only 2 wickets down. Thomas ended up with 2-5 off 3 overs and was our team player of the match. Well done to all the boys for their effort and enthusiasm. They showed plenty of skill and encouragement. Particular mention goes to the 7 boys who had never played a game of cricket before. Thanks to the parents for supporting our children and helping out on the day. Mr Tidbury
