09:30 - 13:00 Welcome-Sightseeing-Tour of Berlin with a visit to a museum(Museums Island, UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site)

On this tour you will learn about the history of Berlin and discover the mostinteresting places of the German capital: from the western city, theKurfürstendamm with its landmark, the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche,the department store KadeWe, impressing embassies, multicultural districtsto the historic Berlin with theboulevard Unter den Linden, theBerlin cathedral to the mostbeautiful square of Berlin, theGendarmenmarkt.You will see the TV tower, thetown hall and of course remnantsof the wall, which divided Berlinuntil 1989.

We will show you the Museums Island(UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site)and especially the Pergamonmuseum,well known for the reconstruction ofantique architecture in original size.

09:30 - 12:00 Guided tour in the German quarter of parliament and government

Visit of the dome and terrace is scheduled, for the pre-registration some information is needed, please note thison registration form (don’t forget: on-site you need yourvalid ID-card). You will see the Brandenburg gate, thesymbol of the reunification. The Pariser Platz has beencompletely rebuilt in the 1990s. Next to it is the seat of theGerman Parliament, the Reichstag building, renovated bythe British architect Norman Foster and the seat of theGerman chancellor.

After a visit of the dome and the terrace with a great viewof Berlin you willhave leisure timeat the Potsdamsquare, the mostspectacular recon-struction of the“new Berlin” withshopping mall andrestaurants.

09:30 - 17:00 Full day trip to Potsdam, the city of palaces and gardens

The landmark of Potsdam is the park Sanssouci with thevineyard terraces. We will visit the New Palace, the largestand most impressive palace, built by Frederick the Great,with the marble hall and the grotto hall. The old city ofPotsdam is being reconstructed, especially the old citypalace, now the seat of the parliament of the federal stateof Brandenburg. After leisure time in the Dutch Quarter, theonly dutch settlement beyond the Netherlands, we will visitthe latest palace of the Hohenzollern, Palace Cecilienhof. Itis the famous venue of the Potsdam Conference, where

Stalin, Churchill/Atlee and Truman met in summer 1945.Here, at the palace Cecilienhof, the Potsdam guides will offer you coffee andcake. The Glienicker Bridge, where American and Soviet spies wereexchanged, will be the last spot in Potsdam. Nowadays it is a normal bridgewith a wonderful view of the river Havel.

Museum, the “palace of tears”, the train station Friedrichstraße, the studio ofthe first German TV-Programm, the Parliament buildings, Berlin main station,the embassy of Switzerland and the house of the cultures of the world.

09:30 – 12:30 Walking tour “25 years since the fall of the wall” from CheckpointCharlie to the Panorama Point at Potsdam Square with a great viewof Berlin

Checkpoint Charlie, the only pointin the world, where American andSoviet tanks stood face-to-face, hasbeen since the symbol of the coldwar. We start here with our walkingtour, follow the running of theformer wall and end at the Potsdamsquare, where in the 90s acompletely new area was created by international investors.

Here Europe’s fastest lift will bring us to the top of a sky scraper with agreat view of the Sony Center, the Beisheim Center and the Tiergarten,one of the large parks of Berlin.
