FIT FOR A PRESIDENT !Named after the first President of Ghana, the FPSO moored in 1.100mwd was undergoing installation of a temporary mooring system during the FPSO rectification phase. The Telford 28 was contracted by Tullow Oil Ghana, and the scope included accommodation and craneage services, the kind of combined-services project that our Telford vessels are suited for.

The scope of work covered accommodation for 80-100 client’s pax. It also included the lift of two 40t fairlead chain stopper foundation block structures, a 30t mooring pull-in winch and other smaller lifts.

As announced in June 2016, Tullow and its Partners had established that the long-term solution for the turret bearing issue was to convert the FPSO to a permanently spread moored facility. We are proud to have been associated with the remediation work, which progressed as planned and an interim spread mooring system was installed on the FPSO whilst on its current heading in February 2017.

Telford 28 demonstrated the advantage for our clients of the hybrid design configuration of our DP3 safe and value-adding accommodation and construction vessels.

In 2016 and early 2017, the Telford 28 (ex Jascon 28) was called on for Accommodation and Lift services to the turret-moored Kwame Nkrumah FPSO, located in 1.100m water depth, in the Jubilee Unit Area, 60km offshore Ghana.
