Turbie was born at Best Pets on a muggy

afternoon in May.

We Have Turtles!

Just like his three siblings Turbie dreamed of

being adopted some day.

We Have Turtles!

Tuggles was the first to leave for a home on

Spiral Lake.

Torey left soon after and was placed right

next to a birthday cake.

Talee was soon whisked away and Turbie

was the only turtle left in the store.

Now Turbie had high hopes of leaving as his

siblings had done before.

We Have Turtles

Soon arrived little Janny whom was hoping

for a horse.

Her family lived in a townhouse so they

chose a kitten of course.

All day long patrons came in and never

looked Turbie’s way.

Still he never stopped hoping he would find

a family that day.

Sammie Sheldon came rolling in and raced

in Turbie’s direction.

With only a quick glance Sammie knew

Turbie needed his protection.

Sammie’s parents were awfully happy with

the pet that he selected.

When Turbie was placed in his new home

his reaction was unexpected.

Turbie turned and looked to the left and then

to the right.

But he did not take a single step towards the

feeding station for a bite.

With a closer look at his brand new friend,

Sammie could tell exactly what was wrong.

“We will make you better,” he promised.

“You will be mobile like me before long.”

Dad found the perfect set of wheels for the

task they had in store.

Batteries, sprockets and gears were gathered,

but they still needed more.

Two flashlights came in handy, along with a

servo, steampunk goggles and a spring.

Dad knew exactly how to arrange them to

make this baby zing!

Turbie has gained his independence and

moves swiftly to and fro.

There is not a single place in the Sheldon

home that Turbie cannot go!

Hey!

I’m trying to
