Service offerings for generatorsABB offers a comprehensive range of services for motors and generators. ABB has a new factory in Switzerland for the manufacture and service of high voltage synchronous and asynchronous motors / generators of the highest power outputs down to about 10 MW, in both horizontal and vertical designs. The facility allows us to overhaul and modernize your motors and generators in Switzerland.

Your advantagesYou can extend the service life of your generators by having us overhaul and repair your existing machines. If a generator has operated long enough to warrant a complete overhaul, besides replacing components this offers the opportunity to optimize the efficiency and performance of the machines. ABB produces all the key components at its factories in Kleindöttingen and Birsfelden. These facilities are ISO-certified (Quality Management ISO 9001, Environmental Management ISO 14001, Occupa-tional Health and Safety OHS 18001) and have high standards with regard to sustainability and environmental protection.

Offerings– Diagnoses to determine the condition of the windings, poles, core assembly and bearings– Maintenance tasks such as cleaning, stator slot wedging, repair of end windings, and pole overhauls– New insulation with vacuum impregnated mica-resin insulation– Replacement of the stator and pole windings – Bearing repairs and installation of new bearings, conversion of bearings for high-pressure-oil jacking system and oil mist extraction system, etc– Overhaul of exciter and conversion to brushless excitation– Replacement of stator and poles, including optimization of the design and efficiency– Replacement and refitting of temperature sensors in windings, cooling air and bearings– Re-equipping with speed and oil flow measuring instruments, repair and spare parts procurement in the event of damage
