• He was only nine years old when he became King and reigned for only nine years.

– Tutankhamun died when he was only 18 years old

• Many believed that he was murdered but he actually died from a chariot while he was on his knees shattering his ribs and pelvis.

The Discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun

• On November the 4th Carters team found steps in the bedrock after several hours of digging they find a entrance to a tomb

– They entered and was face to face with a plastered door way which has the seal of Tutankhamun • At first I could see nothing the hot air escaping from the chamber causing

the candle to flicker but presently as my eyes grew accustomed to the light details of the room within emerged slowly from the mist, strange animals, statues and gold everywhere the glint of gold- Howard Carter

• When carter made a hole in the sealed doorway his sponsor lord Carnarvon said to him “Carter please can you see anything”

• Carter replied “ Yes wonderful things “
