We are looking for people to join our weekly church cleaning teams. Cleaning times vary with each team, but are generally done on a
weekday morning.
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
The Adoration Chapel is open 24 hours a day, seven days a
week. Take one hour of your choosing (the hours in bold
print are those in need of adorers*), and call the
appropriate division leader to sign-up.

Church Support
September 13, 2015: $6201.66
About First Communion and First Penance: First Com-
munion will be observed on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the 10
a.m. Mass. First Penance will be the day prior (April 30) at
10 a.m. In order to avoid confusion in scheduling/
recording Sacraments, to insure fair play for all, and to bet-
ter display the unity of our parish, all candidates are ex-
pected to make their Communion at this time. The mini-
mum age is seven. Registration should be done through the
Director of Religious Education, Mrs. Barbara VanBev-
eren, who can be at [email protected].
The type of preparation for both sacraments continues to be
the discretion of the pastor.

Now that school has started, but before the holidays in-
crease your busy schedule, take a weekend to strengthen
your relationship. Celebrate the gift of love GOD has giv-
en you in one another and learn more communication tech-
niques of a CHRIST-centered marriage filled with romance
and intimacy. The next weekend is Oct. 16 to 18 in Hud-

The St. Peter Church Catholic Woman’s Club is taking
orders for Chicken Dumpling soup, Stuffed Pepper soup,

Join us for the first annual Crusader 5K Run/Walk and
400m Children’s Saint Sprint on October 24. Register

a form in the BJKM Junior High Office during school hours.
Proceeds will benefit our Catholic Schools in Steubenville.

The K of C St. John Neumann Council will be hosting a Din-
ner and Dance for our Adoption fund on Saturday, Sept. 25,
2015 at Malara Hall, Holy Family Church in Steubenville,
Ohio. The dinner will include chicken, pasta, salad, beverag-
es, etc. will be served at 5 p.m. The dance will begin at 7:30
p.m. with some ballroom instruction. It will begin with ball-
room/oldies music and progress to contemporary music
through the evening. The donation is $6 for all and children
under 5 is free. Dinner ticket includes the dance. The dance
ticket is a donation of $2. The council would appreciate your
support, and would hope the event is fun for all. For ques-

2015 Diocesan Parish Share Campaign Update:
We continue to accept DPSC pledges for 2015. If you need an
envelope, please call the parish office, 282-7612. Envelopes
are also located in the church pews.
Status of St. Peter Church DPSC as of 8/15/2015:
Total Pledges: 161
Total households in parish: 550
Amount pledged by 161 households: $63,208.89
Parish Goal: $48, 856.00
We have met our DPSC goal for 2015. Please consider making
a donation. Funds received beyond our parish goal are

Forty Days for Life, Pittsburgh Forty Days for Life: St. Peter Church is scheduled for the 7-11
a.m. shifts on the following two Wednesdays,
September 23, 2015 and October 21, 2015.

When only one priest is hearing on Saturday
afternoon, he will have to leave at 3:30 p.m. to prepare for
Mass. Remember, Saturday Confessions begin at 2 p.m. and
end at 3:30 p.m..
Sacraments
Getting Married?? The next Pre-Cana session offered by the
Catholic Faith Formation in Steubenville is October 23-24,
2015. Registration deadline is October 14, 2015. It will be
held at the Holy Rosary Marian Room, 202 Rosemont Ave.,
Steubenville. Cost is $50. For questions or forms, call the

Classes for the evening session of Faith & Life will be on

We will provide all 3 Levels of Catechesis of the Good
Shepherd but we had to move the day to Thursday after-
noons from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Annual Fall Card Party
Triumph of the Cross, Catholic Women’s Club Card Party, will
be held today, Sunday, September 20 at Holy Rosary Auditori-
um, Rosemont Ave., Steubenville. Doors will be open at
1:00 p.m. and card party will begin at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be
served. Admission price: $6.

Catholic Woman’s Club (CWC)
We continue to collect glasses for the Lions Club.
Please bring your donations to the church office.
The CWC meets on the first Tuesday of the
month at 12 noon in the church hall.
St. Francis Society
The St. Francis Society meets on the third
Thursday of the month for lunch (currently at Naples).
Knights of Columbus
Any Catholic gentleman interested in joining the

St. Peter Church Choir
The choir sings for the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass. If you
wish to join, or if you would be willing to cantor for
weekend Masses, please call our choir director,

Encounter

aimed at ages 13-25, but anyone may attend.
Bereavement Ministry
Our ministry consists of a group of volunteers who
prepare funeral luncheons for parishioners who have

prayer line, to receive and pass on prayer requests,

Samaritan House News
Samaritan House Food Pantry is in need of
cereal, oatmeal, canned vegetables, chili, pork
n’beans, tuna, fruit, spaghetti and sauce, maca-

We continue to collect rosaries (even if broken or in parts)

Una Voce
Una Voce meets the fourth Monday of every month at
6:30 p.m. in the old school building next to St. Peter’s
church. This organization, fully obedient to the Magiste-
rium, promotes the
Latin Mass and the use of Latin and chant in the liturgy.
