Archbishop Mark has written to me, concerned that mass in a private home is not a satisfactory long-term solution for the Beachmere Catholic community. He supported my approach to the Beachmere Uniting Church and I am delighted to confirm that the Uniting Church community has unanimously welcomed us to celebrate mass in their church in the New Year. Four names were selected and people had the opportunity over three weeks to make a choice. 472 people made a choice in the following way: 197 Living Waters Catholic Parish 117 Mary Mackillop Catholic Parish 102 Caboolture Catholic Parish 56 Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish These results will be conveyed to Archbishop Mark and the name of Living Waters Catholic Parish presented as the peoples first choice. I would like to first thank the members of the Steering Committee for their work to date in bringing about a new parish unity, and to all who took time and prayer in the selection of the name for our new parish entity. May the Spirit continue to bless us as we make this journey together in Christ. Yours in Christ Fr David

Twenty-Ninth Sunday In Ordinary Time 19th / 20th October 2019

Another Step Towards A New Parish Unity

We are steadily making progress on the way to our new parish unity between Caboolture and Stanley River Parishes. The Steering Committee for our amalgamation met again on 18

th September. This

meeting had to make some difficult decisions. Your feedback regarding the weekend mass scenarios was discussed. It was apparent that none of the original three scenarios would be suitable. The Committee took into account your feedback, the needs of communities at the five locations, and the need for the mass schedule to be possible with two priests. The Steering Committee agreed unanimously on the Weekend Mass scenario. It is expected that this would begin from 1

st January 2020, after ratification by

Archbishop Mark. Priest 1 Priest 2

It has taken some time to publish the above as a new venue for mass at Beachmere had to be established before it could be made public.

7am Mass St Peter’s It was a difficult decision, but the Steering Committee came to the realisation that it would not be possible to maintain four masses at St Peter’s in the new schedule. I am aware that this is a big loss to those currently attending this mass and I am sorry for the understandable grief that this decision will cause. Beachmere For many years, Beachmere community has been blessed by the generosity of Guy and Cora Rouyer in opening their home for use for Sunday Mass.

The other major decision by the Steering Committee at its September meeting was the selection of possible parish names to put before both parishes. Four names were selected and people had the opportunity over three weeks to make a choice. 472 people made a choice in the following way:

197 – Living Waters Catholic Parish 117 – Mary Mackillop Catholic Parish 102 – Caboolture Catholic Parish 56 – Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish

These results will be conveyed to Archbishop Mark and the name of Living Waters Catholic Parish presented as the people’s first choice.

I would like to first thank the members of the Steering Committee for their work to date in bringing about a new parish unity, and to all who took time and prayer in the selection of the name for our new parish entity. May the Spirit continue to bless us as we make this journey together in Christ.

Yours in Christ Fr David

“Take This All Of You And Drink From It”

The practice of Intinction is not adopted across our Parish

but rather we encourage you to ‘receive’ from the cup

in unity with your fellow Parishioners.

Yes, God maybe calling you—but probably not on your mobile! Please remember to switch your phone off or onto silent

before Mass begins; it can be very distracting to those around you.
