Faculty Distinction
Celebrating the awards, honors and recognition of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences
The Faculty of the Arts and Sciences at Columbia University continues to be recognized with some of the world’s most prestigious scholarly awards and honors. The exceptional nature of the faculty is of course familiar to the students of the five schools that the Arts and Sciences comprises: Columbia College, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the School of General Studies, the School of the Arts, and the School of Continuing Education. These students are the beneficiaries of the leading-edge research and rigorous pedagogy that are the hallmarks of a Columbia education and the work of our remarkable faculty.
Over the course of the past academic year, Arts and Sciences faculty members have been elected to the world’s most prestigious learned societies, have been awarded distinguished fellowships, and have received honorary degrees and countless other scholarly accolades. These honors and recognitions affirm the world-leading stature of our faculty and speak to the extraordinary research and learning environment that is Columbia University in the City of New York.
