Ennead Architects LLP Full-time 6-month internship facilitated through The University of Texas at Austin’s Professional Residency Program (PRP). My primary role was as a member of a 6 person team working on a medical research and academ- ic high-rise on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, from concept to 50% SD. I was tasked with the updating of orthographic drawings in AutoCad and making revisions to the master model in Rhino, while also working in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on various presentation documents and renderings. Other projects I took on included the reconciling of several sets of topo- graphic data to build an extensive Rhino site model for a project in Seoul, and assisting on the development of details for an academic building in Texas. 1) Development of facade schemes for ULURP (city planning) and client

presentations. 2) Conceptual diagrams for McCombs Graduate School of Business short list interview presentation- winning proposal. 3) Designed and assembled

several laser-cut massing models throughout SD. 4) Renderings using Rhino

+ Illustrator + Photoshop. 5) Developed the initial working sections for a 1.2 million square foot medical and academic complex. 6) Designed and built several larger-scale presentation

models to communicate space-planning and circulation to the client. 7) Designed

patterns for a plasma-cut steel column,used as the main support for a 3-story spiral

staircase in Austin, Texas. 8) Reconciled several sets of topographic data to build a

3D site model for a project in Seoul. 9) Managed updates to diagramatic sectional drawings for use in client

presentations . 10) Developed 3D sectional diagrams using Rhino and Adobe Illustrator.

11) Managed the updates on SD-level drawing sets for MSKCC/CUNY Research

Center. Updated all X-refs, blocks and primary orthographic drawing sets per changes in the master Rhino model.

This design-build project saught to address issues of “shelter,” art vs. architecture, and economy as part of a group of installations in Taylor, Texas. The CNC routed structure was constructed out of only 4 sheets of 3/4” plywood, two 4X8 sheets of corrugated plastic, and appx. 200 nuts/bolts. Schedule for design, fabrication and assembly was 4 weeks. Total Cost: $287.40
