There are four different types of sentences.

Every type of sentence begins with a capital letter.

A statement is a sentence that tells something. It ends with a period.

I lost a tooth.

A question is a a sentence that asks something. It ends with a question mark.

What time is lunch?

A command tells someone to do something. It ends with a period.

Brush your teeth.

An exclamation shows strong feeling. It ends with an exclamation mark.

That was a scary movie!
