Consistent with pleasing bottle age and character. Real value and flavour – Why Pay More?
The epitome of a classic non-vintage Champagne. Balanced, fresh and fairly dry. House fizz at the Savoy.
Notes of peach and biscotti. Reliably good with an elegant finish.
It stands out from the crowd but looks orange to us! Bags of flavour – soft white fruits developing into brioche.
Lilly Bollinger’s life blood needs no introduction, Dry, creamy, very fine and toasty with rich fruit.
A highly recommended wine and the deserving winner of the Guide Hachette’s 2009 ‘Grappe d’Or’ award.Brioche and crisp green apple
A rush of nectarines and ripe citrus Presented in a party-delighting bottle.
Fermented in oak barrels, it has an intoxicating nutty spiced-apple nose, perfectly balanced and buttery. Decedence to impress.

Perfect pink colour, with poise, delicacy and a flavour to complement. A fine and delicate cherry and pink peppercorn mousse (Bollinger owned).
Aromas of freshly crushed raspberry and blackcurrant. Brilliant pink colour. Fresh and fruity to taste.
From the oldest wine house in Champagne Est. 1584. Bright strawberry and freshly baked brioche.
Pinkish Gold with fine bubbles. As with the Blanc de Blancs the chardonnay illuminates this rose. Morello cherry and raspberry.
Big bouquet and depth of palate. Lovely crushed red berry flavour.

Vintage at a NV price, superb. Gold Award Winner 2013 (The Drinks Business). Toasted hazelnuts with ripe citrus notes.
Excellent value sparkling wine. Made using the traditional Methode Champenoise. Deliciously crisp with fresh raspberry hints.
A gorgeous alternative to the Yellow Label. Toasty notes giving way to a dazzling, spicy and fruity palate.
Methode Champenoise. Fresh and vivacious use of Pinot Noir. Light mousse, with a delicate raspberry aroma.
On allocation again! Classically Dom toasty notes and expressive fruit. Stunning depth.
Traditional Methode Champenoise with a rasberry and blackcurrant flavour. Handpicked grapes and a minimum maturing of 12 months in bottle.

From award winning producer, Claudio Manera. Peach and green apple aromas. This delicately flavoured, yet lively sparkling wine is zesty and clean with a refreshing finish.
Sparkling wine with screw cap! Fresh orchard fruit and a creamy texture. Progressives methods from the Italian-Australian, family-run producer.
Quality wine with great presentation in a dark shapely bottle. Fresh with a hint of citrus and is very easy drinking.
Methode Champenoise. True classic alternative to the up market renowned Blanc de Blanc Champagne. Equal in taste at a third of the price.
Méthode Champenoise. Lively, refreshing, not too dry and very moreish with aromas of hazelnuts, pear, white flowers and apple
An old favourite with a dry and edgy blend. Flavour is honeyed and balanced with an Old World feel. Ages very well!
An English sparkling wine made using the traditional Champagne method. While English fizz is often top heavy on price this Brut offers great value - and was a double gold medal winner in 2015.
A quality Cava , with delicate bubbles. Firm flavours with a properly dry finish.

Crisp and refreshing apply flavours and barley sugar. From producer Alain Gayrel.
Dry. Not quite the same grip as the Bétonnière but great value. Ripe fruit and savoury aromas with real Sur Lie character.
Floral and enticing on the nose. Fleshy palate with a smidgen of pear drop, a slightly salty edge with underlying minerality. Distinctively Mediterranean
Based on the ancient principles of ‘terroir’ and ‘tradition’, Old World wine is sourced from the
historic producers of Central and Southern Europe.
Rich and tasty, unoaked but just a hint of the New World. Grapefruit, lemon and a hint of hazelnut.
Great style and value from this consistent co-op, great in summer and good in winter! Clean fresh middleweight, slightly perfumed with real flavour, off dry.
Long evolving processes and local geography hold the key to producing quality wine for Old World vintners. Centuries of production has allowed the Europeans to adapt to their surroundings and produce distinctive and much celebrated varieties. Pruning, irrigation, yeast type and the use of oak are all factors
that have been monitored, recorded, and in most cases regulated to ensure local consistency.
This means that despite the ‘Old World’ collective, European traditions differ greatly - even within national borders
Trendy grape variety and a good wine. Gentle flavours, quite peachy with apricots, probably best in summer but a fun change anytime.
Vibrant and fresh - the most pure expression of Loire Sauvignon.

A medium sweet, soft and undemanding wine.
Seriously good, intense flowery aromas, powerful flavour and long finish. We’ve tried Sancerre’s that aren’t a patch on this. Zesty and crisp.
Benefitting from the region’s uniquely dry terroir, a perfumed nose with lemon sherbet. Leaner than the non-organic.
A slightly more complex wine with a longer finish than the Duc de Mornay but not as big the Villa Blanche.
For those that have forgotten what properly dry means, it’s time to have this Muscadet. Traditional in style with stringent, tight flavours.
Very grown up and heavy, best in winter or with food. A satisfying structure and weight.
Not too opulent by Gewurztraminer standards. Easy drinking, aromatic, spicy and off-dry.
All Vieilles Vignes wines are drinking well, but the Riesling is the stunner. Aromatic, with notes of citrus, grapefruit.

Fresh, fruity and lively – more so than most white Burgundy at this age. Lovely pear flavour and a nice dry finish.
Ripe, golden and smooth. A buttery taste of autumn sunshine and great value too.
Rich and generous. Crystallised lemon marmalade, lychees, nectarines and sumptuous honey.
Consistent quality, traditional values and modern methods. Very dry Kimmeridgian soils offer lively mineral intensity.
Truly a rich tapestry of complex flavours. Old World Chenin Blanc at it’s best.
A satisfying nectarine and citrus pith taste with limestone minerality. These coat the palate leading to an intense, creamy, balanced and elegant finish.
Another original offering from this now so exciting region. Quite weighty but carries it well. Smooth, fruity and balanced wine, structured by delicate and silky tannins.
Ripe and uplifting fruit, quite opulent and accessible. Gentle gooseberry with a streak of minerality.
Bollinger owned and beautifully made. More austere and classic than the Chene De Roi with that edge of slate and granite. Very expressive aroma.

This is hearty, full-bodied, flinty and rich. Harmonious aromas of fruits and flowers, concurrently muscular and delicate.
A delightful golden colour with a noticeable citrus and honey aroma. The acidity lingers for a long, refreshing finish.
Made by four generations for longer than Menetou-Salon has been an appellation! Like Sancerre? You will love this.
Classic Loire with established quality. Complex flint and mineral flavours not overly fruity. Aromatic and intense not rich.
A real curiosity, organic and oak aged. Ages well up to 5 years. Very limited quantity.
Nicolas & Vincent Laroche. Highly complex chablis with prestigious Premiers Crus Le Fourneau grapes.
Beautifully crafted. Delicate notes of mocha, tea and spices along with peach, pear and almonds. Gives an astonishingly long finish.
An underated star in the Latour armoury. On the nose is gardenia, jasmine, begonia. On the palate; rich and smooth.
Lovely scent of acacia followed by exotic fruits and honey in the mouth, balanced by toasty minerals. Dry and impressive finish.

Not fine wine, but pleasing easy drinking. Soft and fresh with a creamy palate, hints of grapefruit and rosemary. Lovely refreshing flavours.
A bit different - a delicious combination, fragrant and tasty but not over the top. Sweet aromas of honeysuckle, ripe pear and custard apple flirt with aromatic, rich flavours of cinnamon and cloves.
Sound presentation quality and value.
Beautifully fresh, subtle, creamy, lovely weight and great value. Spain’s answer to Chablis. Wonderfully refreshing citrus smells alongside more textured hints of apricot and peach.
Award winning Verdicchio grapes take this wine from strength to strength. A gorgeous colour, flavour and length. A stunning middleweight.
Elegant elderflower, chamomile and iris floral aroma, sweet almond flavour backed by contrasting lemon and lime with a creamy finish.

A smooth fruity red. Ripe red berries with hints of spice. Soft tannin. Cave Co-Operative
Mulberries and redcurrants backed by a more subtle chocolaty richness. Quite solid, smooth and off dry. Very fair value.
Vin De Pays D’Oc. Straightforward supple Merlot great for frequent drinking.
A sparky number from wine maker Boris Kovac. Dark purple, youthful colour. Lovely sweet cassis-like aromas on the nose with a touch of mocha and spice. Soft and juicy on the palate.
Packed with juicy freshness, ‘Beaujolais-esque’ but bigger with just a hint of spice.
Pays D’Oc, noted for their consistently high quality flavour. Almost our least expensive Pinot Noir and good too.
Nicely weighted blackcurrant with that subtle hint of chocolate and coffee. Open an hour before drinking.

Contemporary style teamed with classic flavours of black currant and plums. A classic. A little young so open a while before.
Well-presented and reliable Burgundian-style. Ripe cherry and strawberry.
A relatively new (2010) appellation from the central Loire. Ruby in colour and we find aromas of cherries, currants, raspberries with a mineral end and presence.
Slightly wacky and a bit difficult to justify the price, so we won’t even try! Tasty and frivolous Rosé in colour, serve chilled anytime
A real stunner, balanced and totally charming. Peppery nose and fresh red fruits. Gallant tannins extracted from these old vines! A full, festive finish of cranberries and cherries.
Juicy tight knit style, very satisfying. Built around voluptuous tannins, rich and varied flavours of cherry. More sophisticated than most Beaujolais.

Well made with great character, drinking superbly now. Classically fruity with floral aromas of irises, violets, and blackcurrant. Incredibly smooth.
Syrah on alluvial granite. Classic vinification, followed by 6 to 8 months in oak. Balanced and supple with hints of liquorice and spice.
High altitude and maturation in French oak – consistently highly rated. Big and powerful finish.
Cru Bourgeois, oak aged with generous fruit structure and a solid long finish. Good value too.
Amazingly approachable and tipped to last. Complex concoction that works: fennel, chocolate, plumb and spearmint scents.
A true gem. Packed with velvety dark brooding fruits, with a long and powerful finish. Delicious.
Cru Bourgeois from Macau near Margaux. 2009 Vintage and drinking superbly. Hints of cassis, cedar and vanilla followed by neat fruit and just a touch of liquorice on the finish.

Classic light Burgundy, supple delicate and undemanding.
An easy-drinker with bags of personality. Deeply coloured, medium-bodied with aromas of purple plum and black cherry.
Great entry level Nero. The palate calls to savoury, smoky tobacco, a hint of bitter chocolate and nip of tannin on the finish.
Sicilian smoothy. Ripe and full-bodied taste with a lively lick of acidity. It’s enticing, plummy and refreshing.
Italy’s answer to Beaujolais though weightier. Intense and fragrant bouquet of dates, beautifully smooth on the palate and a great finish.
More high altitude from the Southern Rhone. The flagship of the Domaine, hefty and muscular yet supple and endearing. Limited quantity.
Bouquet of red berries, spices and a hint of vanilla, which is supported by the refreshing sharp cherries and supple tannins. A classic.

Plum and cherry on the palate, hints of vanilla on the nose with a subtle toastiness.
Delicious all round style. Performs well at a simple supper or a full-blown dinner party (as an aperitif). Lovely sunny acidity.
Fleurie-ish weight and supremely elegant. Bright red colour. Fresh, with cherry, raspberry and mineral notes.
Modern Barolo in a lighter style. Dried fruits, spices and balsamic flavours dominate. Sweet, spicy and seductive.
A powerful and punchy aroma and taste. Full-bodied, well balanced, packed with character of sweet vanilla, ripe cherry and cinnamon, yet slightly tannic. Complex and delicious.
More traditional; weightier than many Barolos. Nebbiolo’s signature pure black cherry flavour, soft tannins and subtle acidity allow you to enjoy this well-made wine (open an hour before).
Wine Advocate 92+ points. Immediate and upfront personality, packed with deep lasting flavours and finish. It’s a “big picture” wine.

An honest, great value Rioja, aged for 12 months in oak barrels to develop a smooth taste and sweet aroma. (NEW)
From the revamped Monte da Ravasqueira Estate, A blend of Aragonez and Trincadeira produces substantial, supple wine with a good finish.
Wine Enthusiast: 91. Sweet, a brambly fruit with the Douro trick of finishing very dry and not at all cloying.
Medium body, juicy and smooth. Redcurrant and plum aromas with flavours of cassis and hints of chocolate and spice. (NEW)
As with many young(..ish) tempranillos, aromas and tastes call to alcohol, strawberries and cherries while the flavours are conservative like a Bordeaux.
A cracking substantial wine, cherry in colour with a complex deep fruit and oak scent and a balanced rich flavour.
Velvety, intense, spicy. Deep cherry red to the eye and a very fruity yet elegant finish.
A popular Rioja with aromas of cedar, plum, anise, chocolate and sandalwood. Dry and medium-full bodied with soft tannins and pronounced fruit flavours.

Our family has been in the wine trade for almost 130 years, with each generation
learning from the past and adapting to the present.
-
John Thomas Underwood began plying our family’s trade in 1886 when he started transporting whiskey from the Johnny
Walker distillery in Kilmarnock, and breaking it down with the soft Midlands water.
-
Despite J. T. serving in North Africa during WW1 and our warehouse being destroyed in the Blitz, the Underwoods have adapted to the changing world and thrived. Impressive when you consider we’ve been surrounded
by fine wine for the entirety!
-
Like J. T. Underwood before us, we’re willing to go the extra mile to give our customers the
wine and service they demand.

Fresh and lively, pure flavours, savoury and fairly dry by market standards. Good value day-to-day drinking.
A truly great example of a New World Riesling. Delicate lime fruit, with a gentle mineral undertone. Delicious. Would last for 8+ years.
South Australia crisp white with a strong perfume featuring pear and pineapple. Performs well above price.
Sharp and delicious. Subtle fruit. Good presentation and a weightier alternative to the Pacifico.
Aromas of boxwood and herbs with hints of lime and grapefruit. Fresh and vibrant, has a pleasing edge and opens up nicely in the glass.

New World wines are produced away from Europe’s historic regions, and were established by colonial
Europeans longing for a taste of home.
The first ‘new’ wines appeared in Spanish South America in the 1600’s, a trend echoed in the British Australia and South Africa. The Spanish soon pushed winemaking northwards to California, while the British
began production in New Zealand - ‘New World’ boundaries that remain to this day.
New World wines now compete at the highest level - even if European makers might argue that their passion trumps the New World ‘terroir’ of science and considered blends. We’ll let you be the judge.

Marlborough; punchy with all the usual instant fruit and arresting grip of flavour. An ugly duckling but don’t be put off by the label, it’s a delicious wine.
We don’t usually like Oaked New World numbers but make an exception with this. Real artisan wine packed with smooth flavours. Nice mango and citrus palette with honey aromas from California’s cool coast.
Beautifully crafted, Serious quality. Tangerines, lemon blossom and fresh apple skin are prominent.
Very similar in style to the Spring Creek. Perhaps a little smoother, and yet another unimaginative label despite the great wine. Dry and aromatic note of lemongrass.
5 Stars: Michael Cooper’s Buyer’s Guide to NZ Wines. Weighty, dry and balanced. Fresh ripe melon, passion fruit and lemongrass that swish across the tongue to a crescendo.

Decanter World Wines Silver Award. Passion fruit and fresh green figs, quite rich. The palate is flint and crisp, yet rich and fruity.

Displays more character and structure than your average Merlot. Fresh fruit aromas, cherries, soft tannins.
Like the Merlot: firm with a satisfying edge. Round with soft red fruit and a velvety finish.
Light, tasty, delicate and amazingly refined, real value!
Youthful and quite delicate by Cabernet Sauvignon standards. Berries and pepper dominate.
Deep in colour, strong in structure, lovely traces of plum and spice, long dry finish. Slightly herbaceous.
Strong on flavour and more backbone than many New World Merlots. Red fruit and a hint of liquorice.
Big plum, cassis flavour with notes of dark chocolate. The best model in the Bouchon range; good weight and finish. Bouchon originated in St Emillion c. 1892.

Properly balanced and satisfying in a lighter, ‘clean’ style. Perfumed with soft raspberry fruit. Lively and delicious.
The ‘First Lady’ Norma Ratcliffe was one of the first women to start making wine in South Africa in the 70’s. Easy-drinking with ripe sweet blackcurrant, smooth tannins. Ageing potential of 5-8 years. Fair value.
Robert Parker 88. A solid tapestry of flavour. This of it as S.A. Claret with a difference. Complex prune and berry flavours but very approachable.
Michelangelo Wine Awards 2013: Double Gold. Superbly balanced with managed oaking expressing subtle sweet vanilla and mocha. Another rich varietal – wine with “Altitude”!
Ripe dark fruit, especially cassis and blackcurrant. Velvety with a hint of tobacco leaf. Heady stuff from the second highest vineyard in S.A. 8 year age potential.
The flagship; weighty, powerful Bordeaux blend. Full bodied cherries and cocoa. Decanting is recommended to release full flavour.
