In Remembrance Susan Sewell, passed

away on February 8, 2017.

Susan loved flowers,

dancing and beautifying

her surroundings. She was

a graduate of The Univer-

sity of Akron, member of

the Women’s Committee,

and recent member of the UAWC. who will be

missed by many.

On February 11, 2017, 14 members of the UAWC cheered the Lady Zips as they played the Kent Flashes. Even though the Zips did not win, members were there to support. GO ZIPS!

The UAWC Scholarship Committee will be hosting a

summer event on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the

Tudor House from 2—5 p.m. Details to follow.

HOLMES COUNTY HISTORY

The UA Women’s Club Tour Group is planning an adventure for Thursday, April 13th

.

We will car pool south to the Berlin, OH area where we will start our day with a tour of the Amish Mennonite Heritage Cen-

ter. Next we’ll drive to the nearby Heini’s Cheese Chalet for a tour; watch cheese being made, view large mural of history of

cheese making, and taste and shop for cheese, fudge and other gifts in a large retail store. Then it is another short hop to the Ber-

lin Farmstead Restaurant for lunch. Finally we’ll drive to Millersburg and visit the Victorian House – a 28 room Queen Anne style

mansion renowned for its Victorian elegance.

There are tour costs at both the Amish Center ($7.75 or $8.75 dependent on size of group) and at the Victorian House ($9.00), plus

the cost of your lunch.

Transportation: Car-pooling (starting points to be determined when we hear from participants)

Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

RSVP: please make your reservation for this fun tour no later than April 7th. Call or email Leslie Bain at 330-658-1965 or

On Sunday, February 12th, The

University of Akron Retiree Commit-

tee hosted a luncheon at the Akron

Woman’s City Club. The luncheon

was followed by Agatha Christie’s

“Mousetrap” at the Coach House

Theater. Over 40 members of the

Retiree’s Club attended the lunch-

eon and 60 members attended the

play.

The question still remains …

Who Did it?
