    HISTORY

    The UB Group was founded by a Scotsman, Thomas Leishman, in 1857.

    The Group took its initial lessons in manufacturing beer from South Indiabased Britishbreweries. At the age of 22, VittalMallya was elected as thecompany's first Indian director in 1947. After a year, he replaced R G NPrice as the chairman of the company.

    The youngest of three children, VittalMallya was born in Dhaka, now inBangladesh, on February 8, 1924. He was born in an army family to Mrs.

    Devi Mallya and Lt. Col. BantwalGanapathiMallya (aMedical Doctor with an FRCS degree).VittalMallya grewup to be a smart young man to graduate at a very young

    age. He received several double promotions during hisacademic career for outstanding performance and thisdemonstrated his exceptional calibre and sharp intellect.Following graduation, young VittalMallya travelled theworld for two years, during which period he visited LatinAmerican countries very extensively and even learnt to

    speak Spanish.

    VittalMallya saw an opportunity in 1946-47 and started acquiring the shares

    of United Breweries Limited, of which he became the Chairman. Hisforesight and business acumen led to the aggressive expansion of theUnited Breweries Group. Meanwhile, the acquisition of control overMcDowell & Company Limited marked the Groups entry into the Winesand Spirits business. The Group took a further stride with the acquisition ofKissan Products Limited in 1950-60.

    Dr. Vijay Mallya is Chairman of The UB Group, one of Indias largest

    conglomerates with diverse interests in brewing, distilling, real estate,

    1983, at the age of 28.

    The Company is a part of the UB Group with Group shareholding of

    30.44%. Dr. Vijay Mallya is Chairman of the Board of Directors. Theoperations are managed by a team of highly dedicated and experienced

    professionals.

    In 1990 Government of Karnataka select the UB group to take over

    MCF, potential sick unit, with losses of 600 million rupees.Now MCF with a

    turnover of over Rs.1625 Crore.With 9 % growth over previous year.The

    only manufacturer of chemical fertilizers in the state of Karnataka.The

    Company is a part of the UB Group with Group shareholding of 30%.The

    Company has capacity to manufacture 2,17,800 MT Ammonia

    (intermediate product), 3,80,000 MT Urea, 2,60,000 MT Phosphatic

    Product Description Urea is a Synthetic organic compound containing 46% Nitrogen in

    Amide form. Available in the form of white solid prills free flowing for easy

    application. Being Hygroscopic, urea is packed in moisture proof High Density Poly

    Ethylene bags.

    Less acidifying than many other nitrogenousfertilizers. Hence most suited for high pH soils. High concentration of nutrients makes packing,

    storage and transport cost cheaper.

    White crystalline product. Being very hygroscopic, it is packed in air tight,

    laminated HDPE bags.

    In the late 80s and early 90s, finding a Scotch or expensive whiskywas a tough task. Every connoisseur stocked his bar largely from thebootlegger or trips abroad. With bootlegger, the risk of getting original stockalways remained a question mark and secondly bulk purchase

    requirements of corporate partners could not bemet.     The domestic Kingfisher First seats have a 48 inch seat pitch and a

    126 degree seat recline. There are laptop and mobile phone chargers on

    every seat. Passengers can avail of the latest international newspapers

    and magazines. There is also a steam ironing service on board Kingfisher

    First cabins. Every seat is equipped with a

    personalised IFE system with AVOD which

    offers a wide range of

    Hollywood and Bollywood movies, English andHindi TV programmes, 16 live TV channels and

    10 channels of Kingfisher Radio. Passengers

    Domestic Kingfisher First is only available on selected Airbus A320

    Kingfisher Class:

    The domestic Kingfisher Class has 32-34 inch seat pitch.

    Every seat is equipped with personal IFE systems with AVOD on-board the

    Airbus A320 family aircraft. As in Kingfisher First, passengers can access

    the movies, English and Hindi TV programmes, a few live TV channels

    powered by DishTV and Kingfisher Radio. The screen is controlled by a

    controller-console on the seat armrest. Earcup headphones are provided

    free of cost to all passengers. The default channel shows, alternating every

    few seconds, The aeroplane's ground speed, outside temperature, altitude,

    distance and time to destination; the position of the aircraft on a graphical

    map and one or more advertisements.

    Passengers are served meals on most flights. Before take-off,

    Kingfisher Red:

    After Kingfisher Airlines acquired Air Deccan, its name was changedto Simplifly Deccan and subsequently to Kingfisher Red. Kingfisher Red isKingfisher Airline's low-cost class on domestic routes. Passengers aregiven complimentary in-flight meals and bottled water. A special editionofCine Blitzmagazine is the only reading material provided.

    Kingfisher Airlines is the first airline in India to extend its King Club frequent

    flyer program to its low-cost carrier as well. Passengers can earn King

    Miles even when they fly Kingfisher Red, which they can redeem for free

    tickets to travel on Kingfisher Airlines or partner airlines.

    For International:

    Kingfisher First:

    The international Kingfisher First has full flat-bed seats with a 180

    degree recline, with a seat pitch of 78 inches, and a seat width of 20-

    alcoholic beverages. Also available are in-seat massagers, chargers and

    Every Kingfisher First seat has a 17 inch widescreen personal

    programming content spread over 36 channels, including Hollywood

    and Bollywood movies along with 16 channels of live TV, so passengers

    can watch their favorite TV programmes live. There is also a collection ofinteractive games, a jukebox with customizable playlists and Kingfisher

    Radio. Passengers are given BOSE noise cancellation headphones.

    The service on board the Kingfisher First cabins includes a social

    Both Kingfisher First and Kingfisher classes feature mood lighting on

    Kingfisher Class

    The international Kingfisher Class seats offer a seat pitch of

    34 inches, a seat width of 18 inches and a seat recline of 25 degrees

    (6 inches). Passengers get full length mod acrylic blankets, full size pillows

    and business class meals.

    Each Kingfisher Class seat has a 10.6 inch widescreen personal televisionwith AVOD touchscreen controls. The IFE is similar to that of the

    international Kingfisher First class. It can also be controlled by a detachable

    remote-control console fitted in the armrest. This device can be used to

    control the IFE, reading-lights, play games and even has a credit-card

    swipe for shopping on Kingfisher's 'Air Boutique'. It also has a facility for

    sending text-messages, though the service isn't provided by Kingfisher.

    In-flight entertainmentKingfisher's IFE system is the Thales Top Series i3000/i4000 on-

    board the Airbus A320 family aircraft, and Thales Top Series i5000 on-

    board the Airbus A330 family aircraft provided by the France-based Thales.

    Kingfisher was the first Indian airline to

    have in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems on

    every seat even on domestic flights. All

    passengers were given a "welcome kit"

    consisting goodies such as a pen, facial tissueand headphones to use with the IFE system.

    Now, passengers of kingfisher class are not

    given "welcome kits" but as mentioned earlier, a

    complimentary bottle of lemonade and

    earphones for use with the IFE are still given.

    Initially, passengers were able to watch only recorded TV programming on

    the IFE system, but later an alliance was formed with Dish TV to provide

    live TV in-flight.And in a marked departure from tradition, Kingfisher Airlines

    decided to have an on-screen safety demonstration using the IFE system,

    however the conventional safety briefing by the attendants still exists onmany flights.

    UB Engineering Limited is headed by a hard core Project Executive withvision and foresight to efficiently lead the organization to higher plateau inline with the Companys Vision and Mission.

    UB Engineering Limited is a professionally managed organization. Each &every client and their project are of utmost importance. Each awardedproject is assigned to a Vice President / General Manager (Projects), whois thoroughly competent and having vast experience in the field. MS Projectand Primavera Packages are used for project planning and monitoringalong with frequent visits to the concerned sites by the respective Vice

    President / General Manager (Projects).

    The project team is ably assisted by various service departments such asFinance, Asset Management, HRD, etc.

    Engineers and Supervisors:

    UBEL is proud to have on roll a team of well qualified and experiencedEngineers and Supervisors, who are with the organization for more than

    two decades. This technical team administers and monitors the day-to-dayprogress of the work at site.

    Technicians:

    UBEL has vast number of experienced workers like Welders, Mill WrightFitters, Pipe Fabricators, Instrument Technicians, etc., who are workingwith organization from one project to another ensuring productivity norms.

    Construction Equipment Assets:

    UBEL has a well maintained fleet of construction equipments like Cranes,Tractor Trailers along with all welding, handling and rigging equipments.Theseequipments are judiciously utilized and maintained in order tomechanize most of the activities at site.
