PRESENTACIÓ

Finalment hem pogut fer el trasllat i des del  Febrer del 2005  s'han pogut utilitzar els laboratoris i despatxos de l'ampliació de l’edifici de Físiques. Desprès d'un llarg temps d'adaptació i de comprovació de les lleis de Maxwell, hem pogut descobrir que un bon terra i uns limitadors adequats asseguren l'estabilitat del corrent elèctric de manera que els ordinadors i els equips experimentals puguin fer correctament la seva feina. Just abans de l'estiu vàrem poder fer també el trasllat a la part remodelada de la planta V de l’edifici de Físiques, allí es pot gaudir d'algunes zones de parquet molt relluen. Pel que sembla l'adaptació dels colons a aquesta planta ha sigut ràpida i sense entrebancs excessius. Per tant ara només queda fer la remodelació de la planta VI de l’edifici antic, que començarem tan aviat com sigui possible.

Un altre fet rellevant a principis del any 2005, va ser el relleu en la secretaria del Departament. Laura Oliver que va estar molts anys treballant amb nosaltres va ser traslladada al Departament de Biologia Vegetal. En el seu lloc, va arribar Joan Garcia que des d’aquell moment actua com a gestor departamental. A tots dos, a la Laura en el seu nou lloc de treball i al Joan en el nostre Departament els hi desitgem bona sort.

Durant aquest any, el Departament ha seguit fent un esforç molt important per elevar a la màxima potència el binomi "recerca + docència", en un llenguatge políticament correcte, podem afirmar que hem millorat en els dos aspectes. Efectivament, pel que fa a recerca es cert que hem anat millorant cada any, però en el cas la docència no sempre ha estat el cas i per tant valorem positivament que el Departament hagi millorat els resultats en les enquestes d'estudiants i haver mantingut la qualitat dels programes de doctorat.

Aquest 2005, any de la Física, hem pogut viure i participar en diferent esdeveniments institucionals i lúdics que han marcat les diferent celebracions de l'any de la Física. Aprofitant també la celebració de l'any de la Física, vàrem celebrar la Jornada Científica del Departament al Cosmocaixa. En aquest intent de projecció a l’exterior, membres del nostre Departament  van participar activament en l'organització de Congressos, i d'altres activitats, de gestió  i de docència i recerca a nivell institucional. Podem esmentar aquí, el Dr. Espriu, Gestor del Programa Nacional de Física de Partícules, el Dr. J.M. Pons, President Societat Catalana de Física, el Dr Ortin, Adjunt al vicerector de Política docent per a formació, innovació i avaluació de la Universitat de Barcelona i Coordinador de Física de les Proves d’accés a la Universitat en el Consell Interuniversitari Català, el Dr. E. Vives actual Vicedegà d'Afers Acadèmics i el Dr. M. Barranco, membre de la Comissió per a l' avaluació de la Recerca de l’Agencia de la Qualitat Universitària (AQU). Resulta que els nostres estudiants de doctorat, a més de fer els cursos, els DEA, i col·laborar legalment amb les classes, estan també preocupats per la divulgació i la comunicació de la seva recerca i professió. Voldríem destacar aquí, l'organització del cicle de xerrades per a estudiants de la Facultat: “Encontres amb el Tercer Cicle”, que han tingut molt èxit de participació i que s'han convertit en un clàssic a la Facultat, així com la seva participació en les Jornades de Portes Obertes de la Facultat i al Saló de l’Ensenyament 2006, que van rebre un seguiment per part de la Televisió de Catalunya. També destacar, que Jordi Mur va guanyar la primera edició del Premi Joan Oro de divulgació científica pel treball “ Aparellaments freds” i que l’Arnau Rios va obtenir el Premi Jordi Porta i Jue de la Societat Catalana de Física pel treball de recerca: Tècniques d' unitarització quiral en l'estudi de la interacció mesó -barió : el pentaquark“.

Un aspecte molt important de la vida departamental es la promoció i estabilització del personal del nostre departament. Aquí les noticies son agredolces. Per una part tenim que la Dra. Montserrat Guilleumas s'ha estabilitzat en el marc del programa Serra Hunter en el nostre Departament i per altra banda els Drs. Jaume Guasch i Antonio Pineda ho han fet al departament de Física Fonamental de la nostra Facultat i al departament de Física de la UAB,  respectivament. D’una banda estem molt contents que s'hagi reconegut la vàlua d'aquests dos investigadors, però per altra banda lamentem profundament que el Departament no els hagi pogut oferir una estabilització.

En el marc del programa Ramon y Cajal, i com a conseqüència de les decisions de Política Científica de la nostra Universitat, al 2005 no vàrem poder optar a cap plaçad’aquest programa. Per un altre costat el Programa Juan de la Cierva, dedicat a investigadors més joves, ha tingut un èxit considerable i hem pogut incorporar als Drs.Bruno Julià, Issac Vidaña i ...que estaran com a mínim tres anys amb nosaltres.

Per acabar, i tal com hem fet els dos darrers anys,  volem agrair a tots el membres delDepartament, especialment als estudiants i al PAS, la feina realitzada durant tot l'any, sense els quals de ben segur que aquesta Memòria d'activitats no hauria estat possible.
