● UC reviews and approves courses meeting the “a-g” subject requirements for UC and CSU freshman admission.

● A portion of those courses are

identified by the California Department of Education (CDE) as CTE courses.

● UC has approved some

141,000 high school courses, yet less than 200 are CTE-integrated courses in the “a-g” areas of English, math, and history.

• UCCI’s first program, the UCCI Institutes, launched in 2010.

• Funding provided by the state Career Technical Education Pathways Initiative (SB 70), and administered by the California Department of Education (CDE).

● 30 of these courses have been approved by local school boards and districts

● 98 California institutions of secondary education have UCCI courses on their course lists
