INSTRUCTOR BIO: Denise Aujla was born in Quebec City, received a French Literature degree from Universite Laval and her teaching certificate from UVIC. Her experience varies from teaching French privately to teaching French immersion and FSL in the public school system. Denise lives in Tofino where she is involved with preschool programs, Wickaninnish Community School and private French language lessons for all levels.

Everyone in Swim Kids levels 1-10 and beyond will benefit from this class. Improve your chances of passing levels by practicing your stroke and improv-ing endurance. Children will receive more individualized attention according to their specific needs. Emma will help children work on everything from floating, gliding, stroke correction and endurance, depending on levels. Taking this course will increase your child’s chances of passing the next swim level as well as enhance confidence and overall aquatic experience.

SARAH HOGANSarah Hogan attended the Lincoln County School of Performing Arts in Ontario where she majored in Dance. She performed in and choreographed several productions including The Wiz, Oliver, Animal Farm and Grease. Since moving to Ucluelet in 1997, Sarah has choreographed dances for the Rainforest Dancers, directed musical theatre productions based on her own original scripts and has helped create a dynamic and ambitious theatre program for children in Ucluelet. in

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB Grades 4-7This new program, designed specifically for kids in grades 4-7 provides a safe and fun environment with blocks of time allotted for snack, homework sup-port, study time, games and active play. This program also offers skill-build-ing in areas of sport, fitness, nutrition and cooking. Kids will meet in the UES Foods Room directly after school and will also utilize the gym and fields.

The After School Club is a joint program between The District of Ucluelet Parks & Rec Dept. and Ucluelet Elementary School.

BABYSITTING COURSE (RED CROSS) Age 11-15Designed by the Canadian Red Cross Society, this course offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11–15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents. Learn how to: -Feed a baby or change a diaper -Prepare a simple meal -Play games with children of all ages -Prevent injuries and keep children safe -Handle an emergency if one happensParticipants are encouraged to pick up a Red Cross Babysitter’s Manual before the course from UCC front desk. DINO ADVENTURE CAMP Age 6-12Come along on this fun, dynamic Dinosaur Adventure Camp! Each day we will meet up (virtually) with the Royal Tyrell Museum in Alberta (where they house all of the cool dinosaur bones!) for fossil and museum tours. On Thurs-day, we will take a field trip to the Courtenay Paleontology Museum to tour the museum and to dig for fossils on the river! Throughout the week, we will work on projects, crafts and dinosaur themed games. This is going to be a seriously fun, informative and dynamic camp so register early to avoid disap-pointment! Bring a bag lunch each day.

New!OPEN CERAMICS STUDIO Drop-in Open Studio time will begin in March, 2015. Open Studio can be accessed by students enrolled in the Intro to Ceramics - Handbuilding class listed above for the duration of the program. Includes use of tools, equipment (including kiln) and a small space for storage. Partipants must have previously completed one 6-week session of Intro to Ceramics in order to use the Open Studio independently. Participants are required to purchase their own clay and glazes. BABYSITTING COURSE (RED CROSS) Age 11-15Designed by the Canadian Red Cross Society, this course offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11–15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents. Learn how to: -Feed a baby or change a diaper -Prepare a simple meal -Play games with children of all ages -Prevent injuries and keep children safe -Handle an emergency if one happensParticipants are encouraged to pick up a Red Cross Babysitter’s Manual before the course from UCC front desk. Ucluelet Family Ties is a Pregnancy & Post Natal outreach program of BC, open to parents in Ucluelet, Hitacu and area. Expectant and new parents (and experienced parents too!) can attend weekly drop-ins to hear up to date information, ask questions of the Public Health Nurse,

and meet other parents in an informal setting. Hear guest presenters on topics of nutrition, dental health, infant development and more; discuss parenting styles and skills with other parents; get vitamin supplements and food vouchers. Moms, dads, grandparents all welcome! Snacks are provided.
