    Building a Future

    Udaans FlightThe Udaan programme is one of the premier programmes in the country that focuses on the skilling of graduates and post graduates of Jammu and Kashmir, whose success lies in the participation of private sector. The achievement of this programme is a combined efforts of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Jammu and Kashmir State Government, Universities, Employment Exchanges in the state, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

    New Corporate Partners have collaborated with Udaan

    TENVIC is a division of Anil Kumble Sports Promotion Pvt Ltd. which was incorporated in 1999 with its headquarters in Bangalore. TENVIC is in the business of sports training and consulting. Tenvic has joined hands with NSDC Udaan to train 250 youth of Jammu and Kashmir over a period of 5 years.

    Bharti Infratel was incorporated in 2006 as a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel. Bharti Infratel owns about 35,900 towers in 11 telecom circles across India. Bharti Infratel deploys and manages telecom towers and communication structure for various wireless operators. Bharti Infratel has joined hands with NSDC Udaan to train 40 candidates from the State of Jammu and Kashmir over a period of 4 years.

    Fidelis Corporate Solutions Pvt. Ltd headquartered in India's Silicon Valley, Bangalore, is a Professional Services Organization. Fidelis believes in assuring business continuity by incorporating best business processes and practices. Fidelis has partnered with Udaan to provide training to 775 candidates over a period of 4 years from the state of Jammu and Kashmir in the BFSI and Retail sector.

    MTC Mount Talent Consulting, an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Company, member of CII, NSDC, NASSCOM is one of India's leading global HR Consulting firm. It specializes in multiple facets of HR, Knowledge Services-Trainings, Assessments and Consulting. MTC has reached out to an array of clients with functions such as Recruitments, Consulting and Knowledge Services through its team of young and dynamic professionals. Mount Talent has committed to train 345 candidates over a period of 4 years from the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

    Manpower Group, the world leader in innovative workforce solutions, creates and delivers high-impact solutions that enable clients to achieve their business goals and enhance their competitiveness. These innovative solutions cover an entire range of talent-driven needs from recruitment, assessment, training development, career management, to outsourcing and workforce consulting. Under Udaan, training will be offered in Retail and Pharmaceuticals. Manpower has partnered with Udaan to provide training to 5,000 candidates from the state of Jammu and Kashmir over a period of 4 years.

    Eli Research India is part of the Eli Global group of companies. Eli is passionate about creating products that engage readers and users with unique interests. Eli and its affiliates serve customers ranging from baseball card collectors to medical coders. Eli provides a broad range of media for each interest group including magazines, newsletters, online communities, subscription web sites, e-commerce solutions, workflow software, certifications, training, seminars, conferences and webinars. Eli Research has joined hands with Udaan to train 150 candidates over a period of 3 years from the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

    Sebiz creates powerful multimedia content, innovative Internet business applications, technology and infrastructure of high quality and low costs. Sebiz helps in bringing defect-free products to market, on time and within budget. Sebiz plans to train 285 candidates over a period of 4 years from the state of Jammu and Kashmir .

    Udaan's Engagement

    To engage with key stakeholders, NSDC distributed Udaan's communication pack to all the nodal officers in the state. The pack included information such as monthly update, brochure, newsletters and candidate testimonials. We believe this will further empower the nodal officers to reach out to the target audience and motivate them to come forward and join the scheme.

    A delegation of representatives from Ministry of Home Affairs and NSDC visited Kashmir for an interactive session with the nodal officers Mr. B R Sharma, Principal Planning and Development and the Udaan Mission Management team. The aim of the visit was to understand some of the challenges in scaling-up the scheme, streamline the processes, finalize the plan for coming year and to ensure the benefit of the scheme reaches to every section of the society in Jammu & Kashmir.

    On 23rd May, Udaan radio jingle went live in leading radio channels like Vividh Bharati and Big FM 92.7 across Jammu and Kashmir. The aim of this radio jingle is to promote Udaan amongst the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

    Graduation Ceremonies

    Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd. is engaged in manufacturing and export of readymade garments in the international market. It is one of the leading export houses of India with an annual turnover of 450 million USD. It caters to a versatile client base like Wal-Mart, Target, A&F, Hugo Boss, FCUK, H&M, Liz Claiborne, GAP, CK, Espirit, Zara etc.

    Shahi Exports Udaan Graduation ceremony was held at Shahi Exports Training Center in Faridabad on 16th April, 2014. Mr. R. K. Srivastava Joint Secretary (Kashmir), Ministry of Home Affairs was the Chief Guest. The program was attended by Mr. J. D. Giri, Vice President Human Resources, Shahi Exports, Mr. Anant Ahuja, Shahi Exports, Mr. Sanjay Roy, Director Media, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and NSDC Representatives. Mr. J. D. Giri gave a presentation on the Shahi Udaan program and the students narrated their experiences.

    Graduation Ceremonies

    Tata Motors Limited is India's largest automobile company, a leader in commercial vehicles in every segment and among the top in passenger vehicles. TATA Motors has joined hands with Udaan to train 1,300 Jammu and Kashmir youth in the next 5 years.

    The first batch of 56 candidates in TATA Motors, have completed training at AMITY University, Noida and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR). Candidates were felicitated at the Graduation ceremony held at Tata Motors Training Centres. The event was attended by senior officials from TATA Motors.

    Sahaj-e-Village Limited, an initiative of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited aims at bridging the digital divide between urban and rural India. Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited has been a pioneer in infrastructure financing in India, steadily contributing towards infrastructural development and a better tomorrow. Srei-e-Sahaj has joined hands with Udaan to train 650 youth from Jammu and Kashmir over a period of 5 years. Srei-e-Sahaj aims to be the change agent by providing training and placement support to the large section of unemployed but ambitious and progressive youth in Jammu and Kashmir.

    Candidate Stories

    Udaan Scheme touching the lives of youth of Jammu and Kashmir

    I am a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from Jammu. I got the opportunity of getting trained with Shahi Exports through Udaan. After joining the training program I have learnt several new concepts which I am sure will help me in future. I have also been able to improve my communication skills. I have made new friends. We visited famous places like Red Fort, Bangla Sahib and Lotus Temple. My sincere thanks to Shahi Exports and Udaan for providing me such a platform to make my dream come true.

    I am Mudasir Nazir, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Srinagar district. The training experience at Shahi Exports was phenomenal. I have attained managerial skills and competencies for my professional life. The faculty was cooperative and friendly and we sincerely appreciate their commitment and enthusiasm. They motivated us and boosted our morale. I have developed a positive attitude towards my career and I am confident of achieving my goals easily. Before coming here, we were unpolished and had no idea of working in a corporate world but after the training, we are completely transformed.

    Udaan is truly a remarkable initiative and I am proud to be a part of this program. I urge the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward and be a part of Udaan.

    I am Sheikh Touseef Rashid. I have recently completed my Masters in Social Work from Kashmir University. I am extremely thankful for the training and guidance given to me by Shahi Exports through the project Udaan. It gave me a chance to explore the world outside Jammu and Kashmir. The faculty at Shahi Exports training center has not only taught me technical aspects but also professional skills. With the help of behavioural training, I have been able to improve myself. If I had not been given this opportunity I would have been the same person as I was a month ago. I can feel the change in myself. At last I would like to say Project Udaan encourages the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to explore the world of learning outside the state and grab the opportunity to be successful.
