This nationally endorsed course is an extension of the ACMA Open Cabler Registration Training Requirements Course, and provides applicants with the training, skills and knowledge to correctly install and terminate Optical Fibre Cabling.

COURSE DURATIONOpen cablers currently working in the telecommunication industry will typically complete the specialisation telecommunication core unit full time over a period of 2 days.

COURSE REQUIREMENTSTo gain entry into this course, applicants must hold a current ACMA Open Cabler Registration and have attained the pre-requisite Unit(s) of competency. The core unit of competency must be achieved.

CERTIFICATIONA Statement of Attainment will be issued for each Unit of Competency completed. Graduates will be eligible to register with one or more of the following Cabler Registrars for recognition as an ACMA Open Cabler.

SKILLS AND NATIONAL RECOGNITION The CET Skills Recognition process benefits applicants who have undergone prior learning and recognises competencies obtained outside a formal educational or training environment, gained through life or work experience. Competencies currently held by applicants will be formally assessed against each applicable Unit of Competency and maybe recognised regardless of how, when and where they were achieved. Skills Recognition is an assessment process and a cost recovery charge will apply.

CET accepts and provides credit to learners for units of competency and/or modules (unless licensing or regulatory requirements prevent this) where these are evidenced by either AQF certification documentation issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation or an authenticated VET transcript issued by the Registrar.
