Specializations

tudents can undertake one of the following specializations;

  BSc Computer Science

  BSc Information Technology

Sc Computer Science vs BSc Information Technology (which one to choose)?

Both programmes (BSc Computer Science and BSc Information Technology) are similar in nature (they both have a great de

verlap) and they provide the student with the flexibility of choosing their degree title. From an employer ’s perspective t

sn’t much difference (if any at all) with no preference being given to any of the titles. From an academic perspective you

nrol in the same MSc or MBA or other academic programmes without one title having advantage over the other.

However the difference in naming has more to do with purpose  – the Computer Science degree was created for students

refer the technical aspects of computing  – therefore programming is mandatory. On the other hand, the Informa

echnology was created for students whose background consists of the management or business side of IT.
