ROLE

UI/UX Design, Voice Over, Flash development, 3D Animation.

OVERVIEW

The Total Rewards kiosk System, as its now referred to, was my first project for Park Place

Entertainment in 2000.

The system was designed to solve the problem of casino patrons standing in long lines at

Reward centers to check on their account balances and comps.

When initially installed in 2000, the kiosks did not seem to be adopted by our customers

as we had hoped. A little more research revealed that our customers where still going to

the Reward Centers to get scratch off tickets for various contests that the casino would

run.

In response to this information we added Flash based interactive games to the kiosks

which finally created the adoption we had hoped for.

In 2005, we merged with Harrahs Entertainment and the kiosk system was expanded to

54 casinos. The system is still in use today and still uses the voice over and designs I

created back in 2000.

OVERVIEW

iSlots was one of Caesars Entertainments first mobile apps., and one of the very first

online gaming apps.

iSlots was a developed prior to the approval of online gaming for cash, so users who had

a Total Rewards account could play the application for Total Rewards points. The

application also featured in game advertising for Casinos based on the users geographic

location and preferences.

The application interface was a 3d model of an actual slot machine. The look of the slot

machine could be customized to reflect the users favorite Caesars casino and reel

symbols could be replaced with photographs that the user uploaded from their device.

Additionally the pay table, the top portion of a slot machine, could be made visible

through a swipe gesture.

OVERVIEW

eConcierge was a pilot application that led to the development of an application called

myTR.

The application was designed to provide hotel guest who are not Total Rewards

members, but identified as high spend customers with a better experience during their

stay. The application provided the users with access to casino programs usually reserved

for high spend Total Rewards members.

Through the application, users could make priority reservations for on-site venues, and

receive special offers and promotions.

The pilot was conducted at Harrahs Casino in Atlantic City to asses its popularity and to

gather user feedback we would use to develop the more widely available app “MyTR”.

OVERVIEW

The Way-finding Kiosk was designed as the next generation of the Total Rewards Kiosk

system designed back in 2000.

This kiosk system was deployed primarily in our Las Vegas market and integrated way finding

technology developed by Four Winds interactive.

The User Experience research we did while developing these included setting up kiosks

in our Las Vegas casinos where my team members and I would sit and answer casino

guests questions. The questions where put into a data base and used to determine the

types of information we should focus on in the design of the kiosks.

The User Interface also was required to be ADA compliant since they where mounted

high on walls and columns around our casinos. To accomplish this we placed an

accessibility feature at the bottom the changed the User interface to be accessible to

anyone seated in a wheel chair.

PestPac mobile is the mobile component to the Saas app “PestPac”. The app allows pest

industry technicians to manage their daily schedules, perform complex inspections, and

assure compliance with industry regulations. The application also integrates a proprietary

algorithm developed by a company in Milan Italy that performs complex routing

calculations to create efficient routes for the drivers.

One of the requirements for large buttons and large clear icons based on the fact that the

technicians using the application would be using it in conjunction with other equipment

and often only had one hand free.

Route Manager was a Saas based application designed for companies to be able to manage

the locations of their drivers in real time. The application utilizes WorkWaves proprietary routing

algorithm to plot complex delivery routes for delivery companies with multiple vehicle fleets and

complex routing challenges.

OVERVIEW

Route Manager is the mobile component to the Saas app of the same name. The

application utilizes WorkWaves proprietary routing algorithm to plot complex delivery

routes for delivery companies with multiple vehicle fleets and complex routing

challenges.

The mobile app shows drivers a list of deliveries that need to be made for a given day,

provides directions to each location, allows the back office to communicate special last

minute instruction or changes to the route to the driver, allows drivers to collect customer

signatures and provide the office with proof of delivery through the ability to attach

photos to each order.

ROLE

UI/UX Design ,3d Modeling, User Testing.

OVERVIEW

In 2009 I became part of a team responsible for the conception and design of interactive

3d applications available on Microsoft Surface tables at our casinos.

The team conceived a list of potential games and applications that we could build for the

tables. Once approved we created the applications and deployed them at our properties.

My role on this team was as both UI UX designer and 3D asset creation.

Some of the applications we developed for the table included

Flirt

An application that allowed users to create phrases using 3d refrigerator magnets and

sending the phrases to other tables.

i-cocktail

This was a 3d interactive application that allowed users to create cocktails and have them

delivered to their tables.

Bowling

A highly popular application that allowed users to compete in a top down 3d bowling

game by rolling a ball at virtual pins. The game used a very realistic physics engine to

add to the realism. Through the applications popularity, Caesars was able to secure a

lucrative sponsorship of the application from Petron Tequila. After the sponsorship, we

changed the bowling pins to Petron Tequila bottles, and replaced the bowling ball with a

3d lime. The bowling alley featured prominent Petron branding.

NASCAR

Nascar was a 3D interactive racing game that allowed users to compete at the Talledega

speedway in Caesar property branded Cars.

OVERVIEW

In 1994 I worked with PBC Guitar Technology to automate their production process. We

implemented state-of-the-art CNC technology to manufacture our products. I personally

programmed the CNC machines to manufacture all of PBC's product lines and the

product lines being built for Ibanez at the time.

Once the programs where complete, I designed a custom interface for the DOS based

CNC software that allowed an operator to easily select an instrument to be manufactured

and configure it with no knowledge of CNC programming.
