The connector is designed in compliance with the specifications of the international railway standard UIC 552.ZH Series connectors with their long time proven design have been the stock items of the Schaltbau product line for the railway industry.

All railway vehicles used in international service including motive power units which are equipped with a train line require ZH Series jumpers. The connectors are designed for coupling the jumpers which provide the electrical connections between the vehicles of a multiple unit train.
