Warmly welcome you to the third issue of the college news letter “Mayuke”. Here you will

find the latest news of the college and its exceptional programs, achievements of faculty

members and students. All these achievements are the result of the concerted effort of the

faculty members, the supporting staff and the students along with the support of the

Administrator. These achievements have made us to increase the number of issues in a year.

This year, there will be two issues of News Letter and we look forward to keep you posted of

our programs on each of these vital fronts. The remarkable accomplishments of our students and faculty

members will increase more and more number of issues of news letter to make known our progress to the

world.

Owing to the significance and necessity of acredation for national and global recognition, our college

has initiated steps to apply for NBA acredation. We are going to upload necessary documents in its website

soon. Based on the Tamilnadu Energy Policy 2012, the college had installed 15KW Solar Electric Power

generation system and has initiated action to install another 2 units of 15KW Solar Electric Power generation

sytem in the campus.

Furthermore three of our college faculty members have completed their Ph.D in their respective fields

of study. Our Alumni have formed two endowment funds to honour the University toppers in UG and PG

departments and more endowment funds will be created for the benefit of our students. We look forward with

several achievements like these in the next issue.

forward to reach greater heights.”

Entrepreneurship has become a very important component of life in the student‟s

community. More recently the term entrepreneurship has been extended to include a specific mindnest

resulting in entrepreneural activities. Prime Minister Narendar Modi has launched “Make in India” campaign

aimed at reviving the job creating manufacturing sector. The number of Engineering College students joining

„star tups‟ is increasing because students have more oppor tunities and it offers much potential for growth in

innovation. Placement directors are to identify students with entrepreneural skills and enhance their talent in

entrepreneurial and encourage more students to participate in startups which had seen a number of companies

emerge.

About The College

Moved by the sad plight of affairs which was prevailing among the rural based population of Vaniyambadi

and nearby Village who were quite unaware of the technological explosion that was taking place in India, the

philanthropist of Vaniyambadi and nearby villages came together and established Jai Barath Charitable Trust

in the year 1994 and started Priyadarshini Engineering College in the year 1995 under its banner with their

sumptuous contributions.

With the sole aim that the accomplishment of the Vision and Mission of the Trust does not get shattered,

the matter was referred to the Honorable High Court of Madras for scheming. The Honorable High Court of

Madras appointed Retired Justice V.Rengasamy as the Receiver of the Trust in the year 2004 which

appointment was confirmed by the Honorable Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. Right from that time

Honorable Justice V.Rengasamy with his efficient leadership, guidance and impeccable integrity is

administering Priyadarshini Engineering College faithfully following the Vision and Mission of Jai Barath

Charitable Trust in letter and spirit and has raised the college to greater heights.

He took initiative to establish palatial buildings and labs in the college. He made it a point to fully equip

the labs with the necessary software and our labs are deficient free as per the AICTE and Anna Unive rsity

norms. He introduced B.E (Civil) in Undergraduate Course and M.E (Power Systems) and M.E (Engineering

Designs) in Postgraduate course. He continues to administer the institution with full zeal and zest till date.
