UK Export Finance

UK Export Finance is the UK’s export credit agency. It exists to ensure that no viable UK

export should fail for want of finance or insurance from the private market. It provides

finance and insurance to help exporters win, fulfil and ensure they get paid for export

contracts.

Sectors in which UKEF has supported exports include: aerospace, construction, oil and gas,

mining and metals, petrochemicals, telecommunications, and transport.

UKEF supports exporters with a range of products that include:

• Bond insurance policy

• Bond support scheme

• Buyer & supplier credit financing facility

• Direct lending facility

• Export insurance policy

• Export refinancing facility

• Export working capital scheme

• Letter of credit guarantee scheme

UKEF has a regional network of 24 export finance advisers supporting export businesses.

Carol Harvey, Export Finance Adviser, will provide you, as a business that exports or wants

to export, with local access to specialist information on solving the financial challenges

involved in selling overseas, including issues such as obtaining credit insurance to protect

your business while you take advantage of international sales opportunities. Export finance

advisers are also the primary point of contact for exporters seeking to access UKEF’s range

of government-backed guarantees and insurance products.

Carol has over 34 years’ experience in export credit and political

risk insurance including 28 years within a trade credit broking

environment with a global provider. She has supported the

development and servicing of trade credit across the UK in both

corporate and SME markets.

Jonathan Spencer

Stakeholder Manager

Jonathan Spencer has been the Oil & Gas Stakeholder Manager, Oil

& Gas Trade Team since 2014, and works to ensure that the trade

team is well linked with the activities of trade associations, other

government departments and companies in promoting the UK oil

and gas supply chain internationally. Jonathan has held a range of

posts in DIT Trade team and its forerunners for many years,

including both trade and investment roles, market desks and a

short period overseas in Shanghai.

Mark Hodgkinson

Group Treasurer

Subsea 7

Mark Hodgkinson is the Group Treasurer for Subsea 7, a $3.7bn global oil field services

company listed on the Oslo Bors. Subsea 7 specialises in the construction of the subsea

pipeline infrastructure for oil & gas developments in the North Sea, west coast Africa, Gulf of

Mexico and Brazil. The North Sea business is based in Aberdeen. As Group Treasurer Mark is

responsible for financing the Subsea 7 Group as well as facilitating the commercial finance of

customers.
