• Easter: Theme continues with 2 bays in the seasonal aisle dedicated to Easter eggs. This is supported by shelf fins and shelf edge labels. There are also several FSDU’s with Easter eggs around the store.

• Tesco Price Promise: Theme remains in store highlighted by overhead signs, bus stops and snow ploughs.

• Special Offers: Located on aisle ends and supported by snow ploughs.

• NEW Household Event: 6 bays dedicated to various household products in the seasonal aisle. Supported by shelf fins and shelf edge labels.

• General Feel: The store was clean tidy and well stocked. Not very busy at time of visit.

• Easter: Theme remains with a 1 bay display of Easter products. There are also several shippers of seasonal confectionery seen near the checkouts.

• NEW Pancake Day: A shipper supporting associated products was placed directly on entry.

• General Feel: Spacious store with shelves well stocked. Plenty of staff seen busy filling up and helping customers.

Key Customer Themes:• We Don’t Match Prices. We Beat Them: ‘10% less or

we give you the difference’ advertised on overhead signs at check outs.

• Saving You Money Everyday: Theme still present with slogan displayed on aisle end snow ploughs. 

• Price Lock: Continuing theme in store which is heavily supported with an outside banner and large overhead signs around the store. 

• NEW Health And Beauty Event: Seasonal aisle is dedicated to health and beauty products. Highlighted by header boards.

• Rollback: Continued support for this theme, displayed on shelf edge strips and header boards.

• General Feel: No evidence of Easter in this store as yet. The store was clean and tidy but several areas needed filling.

throughout the store to highlight offers.• Easter: Theme continues with confectionary seen in

shippers and around the checkouts.• Active Kids Vouchers: Continuing theme ‘Spend £5 &

receive 1 Active Voucher’. Seen advertised on bunting, wobblers and a window poster.

• NEW Sports Relief: ‘Grab your official goodies and all profits go to Sports Relief’. Seen on a shipper on entry.

• NEW The Big Night In: Plinth end supports products associated with the event.

• General Feel: Tidy and clear store. Spacious on entry with few gaps in the promotional areas. Staff seen working serving customers in a friendly manner.

Key Customer Themes:• Active Kids Vouchers: Theme continues to be

supported by lots of hanging signs at till points.• Easter: Remaining theme with 15 bays in the seasonal

aisle dedicated to Easter related items. Highlighted by shelf fins, FSDUs and shelf edge strips.

• Sainsbury’s Bank: Continued theme with several overhead hanging signs at the checkouts advertising loans and pet insurance.

• NEW Love To Cook: Located in the seasonal area there is an island full of cookware items , including cooking and drinking products. The theme is supported by outside ‘A’ frames, shelf edge strips, overhead signs and shelf fins.

• NEW Sport Relief: Advertised in store on aisle end offers and hanging signs. There are also FSDUs, tee shirts and sleep wear around the store.

• General Feel: The store was clean tidy and well stocked. It was quite busy and there were plenty of tills open.

Key Customer Themes:• Payback Bonus: Theme still present in store displaying

strap line ‘Save £10 on your 4th shop and 10p off per litre of fuel’. This theme is supported heavily by overhead signs at checkouts.

• NEW The Big Clean And Tidy Event: Seasonal aisle has 6 bays dedicated to cleaning products as well as the household aisle. There are hanging signs, bus stops and bunting highlighting this theme.

• Pick Of The Shop: Theme continues promoting the slogan on overhead signs, bus stops, snow ploughs and header boards highlighting offers around the store.

• Saturday Night Takeaway: Theme reappears in store with overhead signs highlighting items for a good night in.

• Great Value: Snow ploughs highlight various aisle end offers.

• General Feel: The store was clean tidy and well stocked. It was fairly busy. There were several FSDU's of Easter eggs around the store but no bays dedicated to Easter yet.

supporting Easter confectionary with themed POS. ‘1000's of ways to great value’ seen on signs highlighting various offers throughout the store.

• Brand Price Match: Theme remains comparing Waitrose prices to Tesco's using green barkers, bus stops and large hanging signs. These are scattered around the store.

• Health And Beauty Event: Support for this theme is still in place with promotion on entry and in the health and beauty department.

• The Big Spring Clean: Continued support for this theme with a display in the front window and further promotion in the cleaning department.

• General Feel: Clean store and well laid out. Shelves stacked well and neatly. Plenty of staff working on shop floor assisting the customers.

• General Feel: Spacious store with well stocked shelves. Staff seen busy filling up and available to help customers.

• Sourced Locally: Theme remains presenting items with fewer miles to travel to store. This theme continues to grow in store, highlighted by overhead signs, tax discs, shelf edge strips, freezer door fins and outside POS.

• A Great Deal Locally: Continued support with the slogan displayed on POS, aisle ends, dump bins and header boards.

• Good With Food: Slogan displayed on various POS highlighting aisle end offers.

• Easter: Remaining theme in the seasonal aisle with 6 bays dedicated to Easter eggs and chocolates. Supported by bus stops and shelf edge labels. There are several FSDU's full of Easter chocolate, by the seasonal aisle and a few others around the store.

• General Feel: The store was clean tidy and fairly well stocked. There were a few staff on tills but no-one on the sales floor.

• Swap And Save: Theme remains with promotional signs throughout the store (swap leading brands for Aldi exclusive brands).

• Toddler And Baby Event: Theme still present promoting a wide range of related baby and toddler products. Signage hung from ceiling in the rear centre of the store. 

• NEW Smart Swaps Change For Life: Offering healthier alternatives and recipes.

• General Feel: Basic shopping with no frills. Simple layout with bulk stock. Main displays are stacks and large wire dump bins. Advertising posters seen overhead and on the windows.

entry and around the fresh fruit and vegatable department.

• Like Meat, Love Lidl: Theme remains with signs seen over the fresh meat department.

• Healthier Choices: Continuing theme advertised around the checkouts with various offers.

• NEW Italian Offers: (From Thursday 27th Feb). Highly promoted at the front of store.

• NEW Easter: 4 bays displaying themed confectionary.• NEW New Ideas: ‘Great ideas start at Lidl with fantastic

new product ranges in store every week’. Slogan seen on sides of units.

• General Feel: Lots of low overhead signs highlighting various offers in store. Copious bulk stacks seen. Emphasis on healthy options, especially at the checkouts.  Staff very helpful with customers.
