Tranemo Textil AB was founded in 1934 and was partly started to create employment for

women to work in the town of Tranemo. In the early years it was mainly trousers that were

made, but with time production moved on to concentrate on heavy-duty garments and field

uniforms for the army. Tranemo Textil AB continue to have a long and solid experience in the

clothing industry.

Today, the third generation is taking the company further and the business is totally focussed on developing and manufacturing Workwear and protective clothing under the name TRANEMO WORKWEAR. The Group, consisting of subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Finland and Norway, together are creating one of Europe’s strongest sales organisations. The Head Office and European logistics centre is located in Tranemo, Sweden and the Group distributes more than 600,000 garments annually to customers throughout Europe.

A large part of manufacturing takes place in our own production unit in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where we employ over 200 seamstresses and production personnel. Thanks to our broad experience of textiles and our robust quality system, we are always sure that our products are manufactured to the highest quality.

Tranemo Workwear UK handles all sales and marketing of the Tranemo range in UK/

IE, together with the Lyngsoe range of rainwear and ID range of corporate / leisurewear.

FLAME RETARDANT We have a wide range of Flame Retardant garments, including those suitable for working in the electrical and power industry, with molten metals, in environments where there is a risk of exposure to electric arc, in petrochemical industries or in ATEX classed environments.Our goal is to create Workwear clothing that best protects you in your working environment. The garments must be functional and comfortable to wear so as to ensure worker protection if an accident was to occur.

All High Visibility garments are certified in accordance with applicable standards, which means you can be sure you will be seen at work. It is important to care for your High Visibility garments correctly, to ensure their visibility and performance lasts.

FLAME RETARDANT

The authorities’ standards and specifications governing the branch and the development of Flame Retardant clothing. The following symbols are those that occur in our Flame Retardant clothing and are sewn on labels on the outside and inside of the garments. It is extremely important that those who purchase and/or use the clothes know what the different symbols and levels mean.

CERTIFICATION SYMBOLS

CE-MARKINGThe CE marking in the garment shows that a notified body has type examined the garment in accordance with the Personal Protective Equipment Directive 89/686/EEC

EN ISO 11612 - Protective clothing to protect against heat and flameThe standard is divided in different categories, where the code letters say which heat and flame requirements the garment fulfils. Each category is subdivided into different levels depending on how good the protection is.

LOI-valueDetermines the protection of the garment regarding relative flammability and should beover 25%.

EN ISO 14116 - Protective clothing with limited protection against heat and flameThe standard often used for clothing and accessories with a lower level flame retardant, such as Hi-Vis vests, rain wear and knee pads. Divided into three classes, where index 3 is the highest level.

EN 1149-5 - Protective clothing - Electrostatic propertiesThe standard tells if the garment meets the requirements for protection against static uploadand discharge.

A1, A2 - Requirements for limited flame spread; A1: Surface ignition A2: Edge ignition.

B (1-3) - Protection against convective heat and open flames

C (1-4) - Protection against radiant heat

D (1-3) - Protection against molten aluminum splash

EN ISO 11611 - Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processesThis type of protective clothing is intended to protect the wearer against spatter (small splashes of molten metal), short contact time with flame, radiant heat from the arc, and minimizes the possibility of electrical shock by short-term, accidental contact with live electrical conductors at voltages up to approximately 100 V d.c. in normal conditions of welding.The standard is split in two classes:

TeraTX has been developed by combining the best elements of our existing inherent Flame Retardant clothing ranges. From our widely successful Cantex range, we have taken the excellent inherent Flame Retardant properties and from our Aramid range we have incorporated the advantages of lighter weight fabric and high durability. The new TeraTX fabric has been developed by ourselves with consultation and input from a wide variety of end users and distributors, this has given TeraTX the protection, performance

and quality demanded by today´s users. TeraTX meets requirements for Category 2 (over 8 cal/cm²) according to EN 61482-1-1 (Open Arc). This is particularly important as many companies in the future will have the Arc Rating Category 2 requirements for their garments. The garments are certified to EN ISO 11612, EN 1149-5, IEC 61482-2 and EN ISO 20471.

Now available as non-metal option for UK and Irish power / utility specifications.

This year we have further developed the successful TERA TX range with the addition of four new garments that are particularly suited for working outside. All four garments are lined and feature a Flame Retardant lining made from inherent PU-laminated tricot fabric, which provides excellent protection against wind and is also water resistant. The lining is designed to be flexible so it maintains the ease and functionality of the garment. Both jackets are provided with ergonomically designed sleeves to facilitate working environments where the arms are raised over the head.

The fabric meets amongst other things, the highest demand of protection around hot molten metals and is therefore extremely functional in environments where this exposure occurs. EN 471 - Standard for High Visibility clothingThe symbol indicates that the garment conforms to EN471 High Visibility standard and which class it achieves within the standard. The Upper figure indicates the area of fluorescent and reflective material within the garment and what level this achieves. The higher the number, the higher the area of fluorescent / reflective material the garment has. The maximum level is Class 3. The Lower figure indicates the reflective ability of the Hi-Vis stripes. The maximum level is Class 2.

EN ISO 20471 - Standard for High Visibility clothingThe symbol indicates that the garment conforms to EN ISO 20471 High Visibility standard and which class it achieves within the standard. The fabric is tested after 5 laboratory washes. The figure indicates the area of fluorescent and reflective material within the garment and what level this achieves. The maximum level is Class 3.

EN 342 - Standard for protection against cold environmentsGarments certified according to EN 342 protect the wearer against cold environments. Requires test of resultant effective thermal insulation (value in m²K/W), air permeability (class 1-3) and resistance to water penetration (class 1-2).
