The long and rich history of DESSO began in Oss (the Netherlands) and Dendermonde (Belgium)
The company has existed for almost 80 years and has its own manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands and in Belgium•
Headquartered in Waalwijk, the Netherlands•
Acquired by DLW (Deutsche Linoleum Werke) and removed from the Amsterdam stock exchange in 1993•
DLW/ DESSO was taken over by Armstrong World Industries Inc. (NYSE:AWI) in 1998•

For more than two decades we have been enjoying a global reputation for the superlative custom made and stock selection
of floor coverings which we supply to prestigious cruise liners and ferry operators worldwide including Carnival Cruise Lines
and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
Our marine ranges include woven and tufted wall-to-wall carpets. Wherever they are to be found on board, our marine
products meet the most stringent requirements for international markets and marine regulations. All the carpets are tested
rigorously in our in-house laboratory as well as in external test facilities.
The DESSO quality and the extent of our product range means that we are able to offer a complete package for the floor
covering of an entire vessel, anywhere in the world.

DESSO Home Carpet has a rich history in consumer carpet, manufacturing A-brand broadloom products which are sold
at the high end of the market. Today, the DESSO Nature, Luxury and Royal collections consist of 30 DESSO products. The
collection includes both synthetic and wool products, where spinning of the wool is all done in-house.
The DESSO Home Carpet brand is a leading brand in the Benelux region and gaining brand reputation and market share in
surrounding countries.
DESSO Home Carpet products are available through specialist retail traders, plus selected carpet stores and home
furnishing shops.

Sports Systems
DESSO Sports Systems has almost 30 years of experience in the sports surface market, supplying artificial grass and
reinforced natural grass systems that provide the perfect playing conditions for sport at all levels.
The product portfolio also includes DESSO GrassMaster®, a sports field of 100% natural grass reinforced with DESSO
synthetic grass fibres. The unique element of this patented reinforced natural grass system is the 20 million artificial grass
fibres injected 20 cm deep into the pitch.
Today, DESSO Sports Systems is the world‘s largest manufacturer with over 50 million square meters of installed sport
pitches for football, hockey, tennis, American football, rugby and multi-purpose use.

All finished carpet waste is palletized and used for fuel in other industries•
All textile dust is extracted, collected and used as fuel in other industries•

DESSO goes a step further with Eco Effectiveness = Cradle to Cradlesm
DESSO has signed a partnership agreement with the Environmental Protection Encouragement Agency (EPEA). By doing so,
DESSO has become the first carpet manufacturer in EMEA to adopt Cradle to Cradle design. This marks DESSO‘s radical
decision to move beyond ‘mere’ sustainability in producing its carpets and artificial grass.
What is Cradle to Cradlesm?
Cradle to Cradle takes its inspiration from nature, where recycling is universal – where everything is reborn again and
again in a perpetual cycle of re-use. Everything in nature provides essentially the building blocks and nutrients of the next
generation.
In the Cradle to Cradle principles, products are made from pure components that are easy to disassemble, in order to
create new products (= up-cycling) in both the biological and technical cycles.
