Angels of Love Angels came into my life when my Mum was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, 10 years ago. Before then, angels belonged to Christmas Nativity plays at primary school, Christmas decorations and beautifully depicted icons in Greek Orthodox Churches. Suddenly, angels began to feature more in my reading. I was drawn to books about angels. I learnt that there was a different angel you could call on for specific help and practised sending love and healing to Mum, who lived in Cyprus.

The word angel comes from the Greek, “Messenger of God”. They are God’s messen-gers of love and guidance. This definition gave me comfort. I spoke out to them, wrote, cried. I felt the angels give their loving, warm embrace, reassuring me I was not alone and that they were with Mum.

Mum died on Saint Andrews day, her favourite Saint, in 2005. I was by her side and so were our angels.
