ObjectivesUpon completion of this colloquium, for the following neuromuscular disorders, participants will be able to:

Peripheral Neuropathy• Identify and differentiate among acquired versus inherited neuropathies • Discuss the utility and limitations of nerve conduction studies and EMGs, nerve and skin biopsies and other tests used to evaluate peripheral neuropathies • Employ cost effective approaches to the evaluation peripheral neuropathies • Compare treating the underlying pathology versus symptomatic management

Autonomic Disorders• Learn the signs and symptoms of an autonomic disorder • Discuss the utility and limitation of autonomic reflex screen • Outline the workup procedure in the patient with autonomic disorder • Describe the treatment options for autonomic disorders

Muscle Disorders• Identify different patterns of weakness in patients with myopathies • Review the differential diagnosis of the patient with a myopathic process • Discuss the utility and limitations of muscle biopsies and genetic testing • Describe different treatment and management strategies for patients with a myopathic process

Motor Neuron Disease• Identify the patient with a motor neuron disease • Investigate motor neuron disease mimics • Promote a multidisciplinary care approach of the patient with neuron disease

Neuromuscular Junction Disorders• Identify the patient with a neuromuscular junction disorder • Recognize emergency in patients with neuromuscular junction disorders • Discuss the utility of single fiber EMG and antibody testing in patients with neuromuscular junction disorder • Describe different treatment options for patients with neuromuscular junction disorders
