Our first issue

INTRODUCTION

It took fourteen years after 9/11 for the cabal to succeed in re-forming America from a failing democracy into a full fledged military dictatorship – although to be com-pletely accurate, the process started long before 9/11.

In fact, 9/11 can legitimately be seen as a kind of culmination of many years of preparation in which the federal government was successfully steered away from its goal of working for the “national interest” to one of working for the interests of the cabal – often referred to as the “globalists” by those who don’t want to identify the cabal by its rightful name.

In fact the last fourteen years can be seen as a consolidation of power over America by this cabal, a consolidation of banking, corporate media, pharmaceutical, scientif-ic and educational policy interests that have successfully steered the public “aware-ness” away from the real perps that have been undermining the entire society and making it increasing safe to embrace the stupid and dangerous to embrace the truth.

The fact that the media was so tightly controlled meant that the 9/11 perps would never be brought to justice: quite the opposite. The courageous whistleblowers who risked life and limb to get the truth out were the ones harrassed, vilified and some-times murdered. Reporters who dared investigate the truth of 9/11 soon learned that it was the “third rail” of journalism. You didn’t touch it, except to reiterate the official conspiracy theory of 19 Arab highjackers.

The real perps were rewarded with more power and money.

So the task fell on the alternative media to uncover and expose the real story, and many people who did lost their homes and careers (and sometimes their lives) for doing so.

9/11 was the curtain raiser for all that has followed: the encroaching police state, the decimation of constitutional rights and protections, the looting of the treasury for the bogus “war on terror”, and now the dismantling of what remains of the few shards of freedom in what was once a free(ish) society.

It has all been so nicely incremental: rather like the frog in the slowly heating water, each degree rise hardly noticeable, until the frog is well and truly boiling.

Many people, of course, have seen this coming; it wasn’t that hard if you kept your wits and objectivity about you. But it was so awful to contemplate that few people wanted to “go there”. I certainly didn’t.

But go there we must if we are ever going to extricate ourselves from this net we are in, from this noose around our collective neck. If the truth ever gets out, a lot of people will be rather perturbed, and the powers that be have been very eager to insure that that never happens.

Nevertheless, it is happening, which is why they have erected their police state. The peo-ple are well and truly waking up all over the world.

Let us hope that it’s not too late.

Washington’s problem is that whereas Washington controls the print and TV media in the US and its vassal states in Europe, Canada, Australia, Ukraine, and Japan, Washington does not control Inter-net sites, such as this one, or media, such as RT, of non-vassal states. Consequently, Washington’s lies are subject to challenge, and as people lose confidence in Western print and TV media because of the propa-ganda content, Washington’s agendas, which depend on lies, are experiencing rougher sledding.

Truth is bubbling up through Washington’s propaganda. Confronted with the possibil-ity of a loss of control over every explana-tion, Hillary Clinton, Ed Royce, and the rest are suddenly complaining that Washington is “losing the information war.” Huge sums of taxpayers’ hard earned money will now be used to combat the truth with lies.

What to do? How to suppress truth with lies in order to remain in control? The answer says Andrew Lack, Royce, et alia, is to redefine a truth-teller as a terrorist. Thus, the comparison of RT and “dis-sident” Internet bloggers to the Islamist State and the designated terror group, Boko Haram.

Royce expanded the definition of terror-ist to include dissident bloggers, such as Chris Hedges, John Pilger, Glenn Green-wald and the rest of us, who object to the false reality that Washington creates in order to serve undeclared agendas. For example, if Washington wants to pour profits into the military/security complex in exchange for political campaign contri-

butions, the politicians cannot say that. Instead, they claim to protect America from a dangerous enemy or from weap-ons of mass destruction by starting a war. If politicians want to advance American financial or energy imperialism, they have to do so in the name of “bringing freedom and democracy.” If the politicians want to prevent the rise of other countries, such as Russia, President Obama has to depict Russia as a threat comparable to the Ebola virus and the Islamist State.

Noam Chomsky summed it up when he said that Washington regards any informa-tion that does not repeat Washington’s propaganda to be intolerable.

Washington’s assault on truth as a threat helps to make sense of the gigantic National Security Agency spy system exposed by William Binney and Edward Snowden. One of the purposes of the spy network is to identify all “dissidents” who challenge Big Brother’s “Truth.”

There is, or will be, a dossier on every “dis-sident” with all of the dissident’s emails, Internet searches, websites visited, phone calls, purchases, travels. The vast amount of information on each dissident can be combed for whatever can be taken out of context to make a case against him, if a case is even needed. Washington has already successfully asserted its power over the Constitution to indefinitely detain without charges and to torture and to mur-der US citizens.

It was a couple of years ago that Janet Na-politano, head of Homeland Security, said that the department’s focus had shifted from terrorists to domestic extremists. Lumped into the category of domestic ex-tremists are environmental activists, animal rights activists, anti-war activists which includes disillusioned war veterans, and people who believe in states’ rights, limited government and accountable government. Consequently, many dissidents, America’s best citizens, will qualify as domestic ex-tremists on several accounts. Chris Hedg-es, for example, is an advocate for animals (see http://www.opednews.com/articles/Choosing-Life-by-Chris-Hedges-Animals_Cattle_Corporate_Dairy-150420-878.html ) as well as concerned about the environ-ment and Washington’s never-ending wars.The spying and the coming crackdown on “dissidents” might also explain the $385 million federal contract awarded to a subsidiary of Dick Cheney’s firm, Hallibur-ton, to build detention camps in the US. Few seem to be concerned with who the camps are to detain. There is no media

or congressional investigation. It seems unlikely that the camps are for hurricane or forest fire evacuees. Concentration camps are usually for people regarded as unreli-able. And as Lack, Royce, et alia have made clear, unreliable people are those who do not support Washington’s lies.

A perceived need by Washington, and the private power structure that Washing-ton serves, to protect themselves from truth could also be the reason for the very strange military exercises in vari-ous of the states to infiltrate, occupy, and round-up “threats” among the civilian population. (See http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-04-16/signs-elites-are-feverishly-preparing-something-big ) Even the presstitute CNN reported that the National Guard troops sent to Ferguson, Missouri, were programmed to view the civilian protesters as “enemy forces” and “adversaries,” and we know that the state and local militarized police are trained to view US citizens as threats.

As far as I can discern, not many Ameri-cans, whether Democrat or Republican, liberal, conservative, or super-patriot, educated or not, understand that Washing-ton with the cooperation of its presstitute media has defined truth as a threat. In Washington’s opinion, truth is a greater threat than Ebola, Russia, China, terrorism, and the Islamic State combined.

A government that cannot survive truth and must resort to stamping out truth is not a government that any country wants. But such an undesirable government is the government that Clinton-Bush-Cheney-Obama-Hillary-Lack-Royce have given us.

Does it satisfy you? Are you content that in your name and with taxes on your hard-earned and increasingly scarce earnings, Washington in the 21st century has mur-dered, maimed, and displaced millions of peoples in eight countries, has set America on the path to war with Russia and China, and has declared truth to be an enemy of the state?

I. As riots in Baltimore subsided, the black mayor is being rightfully criticized for her unbelievable comments. Then, she made matters worse by trying to pull a “Bill Clinton lie” that fooled no one.

NEWS BRIEF: “Shocking Revelation: Bal-timore Mayor Allowed Rioters to Destroy Property”, The New American, 27 April 2015

“Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has a unique .... method for dealing with rioters: Let them destroy property. The mayor made this shocking admission on Sunday, saying at a press conference that during her city’s weekend riots, she wanted to ‘give those who wished to destroy, space to do that’.”

What kind of nonsense is this? Any private property destroyed is property that is owned by someone, or is property inhabited by real life innocent people! No elected officer can condone a policy that allows “those who wished to destroy, space to do that’.

Immediately, criticism poured in from all over the country, in such huge volume that this mayor had to backtrack in a hurry. But, she has a huge problem: her comments were captured in live time on television, forever and forever.

However, this fact seemed to be no prob-lem in her mind. She angrily insisted that she did not utter those words! She did not take the defensive position that she simply misspoke, a position that would likely have carried the day. Oh, no, she continued to insist that she did not say those words.

One reporter said that “there could be a case for other leaders to handle wide-spread protests like this differently. Be-cause sometimes, punching the punch-ing bag really does take your anger away. And on the flip side, telling you not to punch the punching bag can only make you angrier.

What were some of the “punching bags” that were hit, and hit hard, by these thugs in Baltimore?

• Police Cars

• A wheelchair-bound woman. Much anger was vented pelting her and those around her with objects large and small.

• Six injured police officers who, I imag-ine, come as a package deal with the cop cars.

We must be very concerned about the increasingly common practice of rioting in American cities due to perceived police brutality against black citizens. Increased rioting breaks down normal law and order and begins to threaten the stability of our entire country.

While many today understandably bemoan the militarization of police and stress that they must remain police, appropriate respect for them among the citizenry is also necessary. Without it, lawlessness proliferates and, should this become extreme enough, tyranny will step in to restore order. This is why “destabilization” of a target nation is one of the steps toward Marxist revolution. For an eternal law exists: If people will not submit to just authority, they will end up suffering under the yoke of unjust authority.

Do not be deceived: The Elite planned over 200 years ago to destroy exist-ing governments in order to impose the greatest dictatorship the world has ever seen and replace Judeo/Christian values of freedom, respect and justice that society won to protect in two world wars and replace them with deluded Masonic/Catholic Tyranny...

We’ve seen several photographs of the Malaysian Airlines MH17 cockpit remains on the ground in Eastern Ukraine. They show numerous 30mm entry and exit canon holes. These have been fobbed off by the propaganda media as ‘shrapnel’ damage from a BUK ground to air mis-sile.

The consistent circularity and size cor-responding to 30mm bullet holes, or the fact that they are concentrated on the cockpit doesn’t bother apologists who have an agenda to promote.

In a CNN report (see below) there is footage of Donbass militia looking at the newly fallen wreckage of MH17, some of it still on fire. The video was broadcast by CNN. As the images run past us a barely noticeable item is briefly in view of the camera:

A combatant spots something amongst the debris. He bends down to pick it up. What he has retrieved is a 30mm bullet that was in the fallen material.

The bullet is in view only for 3 seconds; from 1 minute 36 seconds to 1 minute 39 seconds. And the way it was casually passed by the camera lens for so short a time indicates that the man who found it took it for granted that the plane was shot at by the trailing fighter jet(s).

This was within minutes of the shooting down, and before the mass media propa-ganda machine started its deception a few hours later about a rebel or Russian launched BUK missile. So the Donetsk combatant would not have known the significance of the 30mm canon bullet he was holding.

Previously, Global Research has pub-lished articles showing the bullet holes and witness evidence about the downing of MH17 [1], but so far as I am aware no video clips have been noticed show-

ing the damning evidence of this 30mm bullet.

A quick search of Global Research [1] and any web search engine [2] will give numerous links to evidence and pho-tographs of the bullet holes, as well as witnesses who saw the fighter jet(s). This, together with the flight route diverted directly over the battle area indicates a premeditated plan to bring the plane down.

As to whether air to air missiles were fired from the fighter jet(s) or a bomb had been planted in the plane, those could well have been additional factors. But we now know for certain that the plane was ma-chine gunned by fighter jets. The bullet holes in the cockpit, and now this 30mm bullet in plain view proves it.

One is left to wonder, what kind of ir-rational psychopaths would order such a murderous act, what brain-dead automa-tons would carry it out, and what supine and servile corporate mainstream media would try to deflect attention from the perpetrators and blame other parties.

NSA speech to text for key-board searchable words?

Editors: For those of you who do not know, I am former NSA. A few years ago, (right after Fukushima when I changed

my web site from photography to events coverage) I stated in no uncertain terms (WAY BEFORE SNOWDEN) that ANY cell phone made 2006 or later had always on speech to text, that had the cell phone sitting there using only standby power to convert everything said around it to text, and then it would send everything said to the NSA in neat little text packages that would not kill the battery or airtime and be totally unnoticed by the user.

And I was told I was full of it, a nut case idiot – whatever, and that “they can’t and won’t do that”.

When Snowden came out with his “rev-elations” I repeated this – that the cell phone did not need to be “on” to record everything said around it, convert what is said to text, and send it to the NSA. I also (long before Snowden) said the NSA had every phone call in America on perma-nent archive, starting right around 2002. And no one believed it. But now that is at least partially admitted.

Now the speech to text aspect of NSA surveillance is in the spotlight again, from a more “official” source. FOR THE RECORD: If you are on the red list, your cell phone is definitely recording eve-rything you say at all times even when “turned off”, converting what you say to text, and putting it in your file at the NSA. This is not a joke, and though this new “official” LINKED FROM DRUDGE report does not take this far enough, I can once again say:

I TOLD YOU SO!

Balancing Rocks

Sirs: Does anyone know the orign and physics of so-called balancing rocks”?We have one near where I live in Vermont, USA, and people around here seem to take it for granted.

I don’t. I think they are simply wonderful and an internet search will yield thou-sands of them scattered (?) around the world.

Could they be similar to many things we take for granted, but are rather unique and most interesting to the open mind. I used to think that the “Coneheads” were people whose skulls were “deformed” in early childhood. I used to think a lot of things have been proven wrong.

Little-noticed amendment was includ-ed in controversial Fast Track trade bill that just passed the Senate Finance Committee

U.S. lawmakers are quietly advancing leg-islation that would penalize international participation in the growing movement to boycott, divest from, and sanction (BDS) Israel for human rights abuses against Palestinians.

With little notice, anti-BDS directives were injected into the “Fast Track” legislation that passed the Senate Finance Com-mittee Wednesday night, despite broad opposition to the bill, which gives the ad-ministration of President Barack Obama authority to ram through so-called “free trade” deals.

An amendment, included in the bill and sponsored by Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), stipulates that, as a principle of trade negotiations, the U.S. should put pressure on other countries not to engage in BDS against Israel of any kind, includ-ing refusal to do business with settle-ments.

The passed amendment has not yet been made public, but Josh Ruebner, policy director for the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, told Common Dreams that Cardin’s office confirmed that the language was based on the Senate legis-lation S.619, which states:

“To include among the principal trade negotiating objectives of the United States regarding commercial partnerships trade negotiating objectives with respect to discouraging activity that discourages, penalizes, or otherwise limits commer-cial relations with Israel, and for other purposes.”

“They tried to sneak it through,” said Ruebner, explaining that the Campaign only found out about the legislation late Monday afternoon through ‘happen-stance’.”

According to Ruebner, the legislation is a “centerpiece” of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) policy

agenda and likely targets the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) agreement, currently under negotiation between the United States and European Union, which would also be affected by Fast Track legislation.

“This is putting pressure on the U.S. Trade Representative and whoever else is doing the negotiating to discourage attempts to enforce the European Union’s guidelines of not doing business with Israeli settle-ments,” he said.

This federal push is not only taking place in the Senate. A similar piece of legislation was submitted last month to the House Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice. The United States-Israel Trade and Commercial Enhancement Act (H.R. 825) would require the U.S., in trade agreements, to “discourage politically motivated actions to boycott, divest from, or sanction Israel and to seek the elimina-tion of politically motivated non-tariff barriers on Israeli commerce.”

The potential implications of such leg-islation extend far beyond the ongoing negotiations with the EU, as its language refers to all trade agreements.

Furthermore, it appears to be part of a nation-wide strategy to pass legislation at the state and federal level to criminal-

ize the call for BDS, which emerged from Palestinian civil society organizations in 2005 in a bid to win self-determination and freedom from occupation, using tactics similar to those levied to transform apartheid South Africa.

The U.S.-based organization Jewish Voice for Peace released a statement on Thurs-day condemning the advance of the legis-lation in the Senate: “From South Africa to the grape boycott to the Montgomery Bus Boycott, boycotts, divestment and sanc-tions (BDS) tactics have been essential tools used to create a more just society.”

But some say that the legislative push at the national level may, in fact, be an indication of the growing power of BDS movements.

Rabbi Joseph Berman, federal policy organizer for JVP, declared, “This legisla-tion, which actually encourages illegal settlement building while strengthening the far right in Israel, shows that BDS is an increasingly powerful means to chal-lenge Israel’s impunity when it comes to Palestinian rights.”

April 29, 2105| A prisoner sharing a police transport van with Freddie Gray told investigators that he could hear Gray "banging against the walls" of the vehicle and believed that he "was intentionally trying to injure himself," according to a police document obtained by The Wash-ington Post. The prisoner, who is cur-rently in jail, was separated from Gray by a metal partition and could not see him...The Post was given the document under the condition that the prisoner not be named because the person who provided it feared for the inmate's safety. The document, written by a Baltimore police investigator [sic], offers the first glimpse of what might have happened inside the van. It is not clear whether any additional evidence backs up the prisoner’s version, which is just one piece of a much larger probe.

El Paso | A group of minutemen watching the Mexican Border for illegal migrants and drug traffickers, have proceeded to the citizens’ arrest of two men in an SUV, carrying 1300 pounds of cocaine. The volunteers were completely astonished when the two arrestees pulled out CIA ID cards and explained they were actually carrying the drug as part of their duties and that the cargo belonged to the Cen-tral Intelligence Agency.

The incident took place last night, in the Chihuahuan desert, near the Texan city of El Paso. A group of seven minute-men saw a large black SUV drive rapidly across the border. They chased the ve-hicle in their own trucks and managed to immobilize it after a chase of more than 15 miles.

The vigilantes arrested the two men on board and called the border patrol, who proceeded to search the vehicle. They discovered dozens of packages of cocaine, totaling an incredible 618.4 kilograms (1363 pounds).

The search of the vehicle revealed 36 packages of cocaine, all marked with the symbol of the Sinaloa Cartel, represent-ing a black scorpion.

The two men claim to be CIA operatives based in Mexico and explained that the drug was actually part of an operation of the agency. They presented identity cards that seemed to validate their claim,

but the CIA spokesperson, Dean Boyd, has officially denied any link between the organization and the two men.

“The CIA doesn’t take part in drug smuggling operations at the US-Mexican border” said M. Boyd. “I do not know, for now, if the men are actually affiliated to the agency in any way, but I can tell you the cocaine doesn’t belong to the CIA.”

Both the border patrol officers and minutemen seem unconvinced, however, and many of them seem to believe that the secret service agency is hiding some-thing. The U.S. custom services have even announced a thorough investigation to try and verify the two men’s story.“Both of them had valid Accreditation and a receipt for their cargo” says Shawn Francis Miller, spokesman of the U.S. Customs and Bor-der Protection for the El Paso sector.

“What drug dealer in his right mind, demands a receipt for 1300 pounds of cocaine? There is really something strange about these guys, and we believe the CIA possibly knows more than what it is ready to admit.”

The custom services have confirmed that the two men, who can’t be identified due to the Intelligence Identities and Pro-tection Act of 1982, did carry valid CIA identifications and that the vehicle was indeed registered as a service vehicle of the organization.

The two men remain under the custody of the custom services at the moment, and are still being interrogated in a facility near El Paso. They are facing charges of possessing, trafficking and importing il-legal drugs, and could face other criminal charges once the investigation is over.

Both the FBI and the DEA have an-nounced that they would collaborate with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection on this case, which has already attracted a lot of attention in Southern Texas.

Billionaire philanthropist David Rockefel-ler has successfully undergone his sixth heart transplant in 38 years at the vener-able age of 99 years old.

The heart transplant surgery, which lasted six hours and was done by a team of pri-

vate surgeons at his principal residence, on the family estate in Pocantico Hills, New York, doesn’t seem to have tired the legendary business man known for his dynamism and cunningness.

His first heart transplant occurred in 1976 after a dramatic car accident led him to suffer a heart attack. He was operated 24 hours later and up and jogging a week

later.

David Rockefeller will be resting for the next weeks in his Hanuatu Island complex.

The 99-year old man allowed re-porters to ask him a few questions only 36 hours after the operation, a testament to the sturdy health of the American icon.

“Every time I get a new heart, it is

like the breath of life is swept across my body. I feel reenergized and alive.” he told reporters.

Asked about the secret to his longevity, Mr Rockefeller explained a simple life is the way to go.

President Obama is ap-parently quite annoyed by the fact that his own party is basically pushing against his "big trade deals" (that are not really about trade). Senator

Elizabeth Warren has been pretty ag-gressive in trashing the TPP agreement, highlighting the fact that the agreement is still secret (other than the bits leaked by Wikileaks). In response, President Obama came out swinging against the critics of TPP arguing that "they don't know what they're talking about."

He insists that it's unfair to compare TPP to NAFTA because they're different deals:

“You need to tell me what’s wrong with this trade agreement, not one that was passed 25 years ago.”

Well, Mr. President, I would love to do that, but I can't because you and your USTR haven't released the damn text. It takes an insane lack of self-awareness for the guy who once declared his administra-tion "the most transparent in history" to demand people tell him what's wrong with his trade agreement, when that agreement is kept entirely secret.

Furthermore, multiple experts concerning things like the corporate sovereignty ISDS provisions and the intellectual property chapters have gone into great detail as to why the leaked versions have problems. They're not complaining about NAFTA. They're actually complaining about the lat-est drafts – but the USTR won't acknowl-edge them because they're talking about leaked versions.

In fact, the only real complaints I've seen relating to NAFTA concern the fact that the government says one thing about these big agreements, but the reality is something different.

Of course, he attacks the fact that people are complaining about the secrecy as well, by arguing (misleadingly) that the deal is not at all secret:

“The one that gets on my nerves the most is the notion that this is a ‘secret’ deal,”

Obama said. “Every single one of the critics who I hear saying, ‘this is a secret deal,’ or send out emails to their fundrais-ing base saying they’re working to prevent this secret deal, can walk over today and read the text of the agreement. There’s nothing secret about it.”

I'm a critic. I can't walk over today and read the text of the agreement. Obvi-ously, President Obama is only talking about elected members of Congress. But that's not what they're complaining about. They're complaining about the fact that the American public cannot see the text of the document or discuss the specifics of what's in there. And that's absolutely true.

And even the fact that members of Con-gress can actually see the document is tremendously misleading. Yes, members of Congress are allowed to walk over to the USTR and see a copy of the latest text. But they're not allowed to take any notes, make any copies or bring any of their staff members. In other words, they can only read the document and keep what they remember in their heads. And they can't have their staff members – the folks who often really understand the details – there to explain what's really going on.

And it all comes back to the point that Senator Warren has been making for a long time: that former USTR Ron Kirk has admitted that a big reason why they keep the document secret is that when they tried being more transparent in the past, the agreement failed. As Warren says, if being transparent with the American public means the agreement will fail, then the problem is with the agreement, not the public.

“When I keep on hearing people repeat-ing this notion that it’s ‘secret,’ I gotta say, it’s dishonest,” Obama continued. “And it’s concerning when I see friends of mine resorting to these kinds of tactics.” Here's a little test: can we see the current TPP documents today? No? Then it's secret. Claiming otherwise is what's dishonest.

In the midst of the troublesome California drought, innovation sprouts up, inven-tion being the mother of necessity. But just like the aftermath of the BP oil spill, how often are people allowed to actually embark on saving the day, versus the insulting “solutions” foisted on the world by the very corporations responsible for part of the problem?

It should not then be surprising that com-panies like Chevron are extending their magnanimous offer of “crop water” in the form of fracking waste chemicals – for a price, of course.

If one didn’t know any better, it almost appears that we are systematically being undercut and sickened to death (she said sarcastically). After all, we already use our own baked sewage sludge to fertilize non-organic crops. And no, the treatment does not stop heavy metals, hundreds of chemicals, drug residues and stomach virus that reside on or within the plants. That’s why the name “biosolids” was picked for the practice.

Care2 reports that Big Oil has farmers over a barrel, so to speak. To the tune of of 21 million gallons of waste water per day – sold to Kern County for farming for $30 per acre-foot, and potentially damaging the end product – our food. Untreated, untested. They are getting rich, while normally they’d be required to pay for disposal.

Scientist Scott Smith conducted inde-pendent tests on the waste water only to find “traces of oil as well as high concentrations of methylene chloride (considered a carcinogen) and acetone in the water.” Chevron denies that they use those chemicals, hides behind “trade secrets” and claims safety. It is also unfortunately salt-ridden.

Wait, how are these companies able to frack up California’s wazoo in the midst of a crisis (8 barrels of water to 1 barrel of oil), and pollute farming groundwater?

They own larges chunks of the land!

Maybe he should have taken traveler’s checks. But it’s too late for that now. All the money – $16,000 in cash – that Joseph Rivers said he had saved and relatives had given him to launch his dream in Hol-lywood is gone, seized during his trip out West not by thieves but by Drug Enforce-ment Administration agents during a stop at the Amtrak train station in Albuquerque.

An incident some might argue is still theft, just with the government’s blessing.

Rivers, 22, wasn’t detained and has not been charged with any crime since his money was taken last month.

That doesn’t matter. Under a federal law enforcement tool called civil asset forfeiture, he need never be arrested or convicted of a crime for the government to take away his cash, cars or property – and keep it.

Agencies like the DEA can confiscate money or property if they have a hunch, a suspicion, a notion that maybe, possibly, perhaps the items are connected with narcotics. Or something else illegal.

Or maybe the fact that the person holding a bunch of cash is a young black man is good enough.

“What this is, is having your money stolen by a federal agent acting under the color of law,” said Michael Pancer, a San Diego attorney who represents Rivers, an aspir-ing music video producer. “It’s a national epidemic. If my office got four to five cases just recently, and I’m just one attorney, you know this is happening thousands of times.”

A Washington Post investigation last year found that local, state and federal agents nationwide have seized $2.5 billion in cash from almost 62,000 people since

2001 – without warrants or indictments. It’s unknown how many got their money back.

It happened, Rivers said, to him on April 15 as he was traveling on Amtrak from Dearborn, Mich., near his hometown of Romulus, Mich., to Los Angeles to fulfill his dream of making a music video. Rivers, in an email, said he had saved his money for years, and his mother and other relatives scraped together the rest of the $16,000.

Rivers said he carried his savings in cash because he has had problems in the past with taking out large sums of money from out-of-state banks.

A DEA agent boarded the train at the Albuquerque Amtrak station and began asking various passengers, including Riv-ers, where they were going and why. When Rivers replied that he was headed to LA to make a music video, the agent asked to search his bags. Rivers complied.

Rivers was the only passenger singled out for a search by DEA agents – and the only black person on his portion of the train, Pancer said.

In one of the bags, the agent found the cash, still in the Michigan bank envelope.

“I even allowed him to call my mother, a military veteran and (hospital) coordina-tor, to corroborate my story,” Rivers said. “Even with all of this, the officers decided to take my money because he stated that he believed that the money was involved in some type of narcotic activity.”

Rivers was left penniless, his dream de-ferred.

“These officers took everything that I had worked so hard to save and even money that was given to me by family that believed in me,” Rivers said in his email. “I told (the DEA agents) I had no money and no means to survive in Los Angeles if they took my money. They informed me that it was my responsibility to figure out how I was going to do that.”

Other travelers had witnessed what hap-pened. One of them, a New Mexico man I’ve written about before but who asked that I not mention his name, provided a way for Rivers to get home, contacted at-torneys – and me.

“He was literally like my guardian angel that came out of nowhere,” Rivers said.

Sean Waite, the agent in charge for the DEA in Albuquerque, said he could not comment on the Rivers case because it is

ongoing. He disputed allegations that Riv-ers was targeted because of his race.

Waite said that in general DEA agents look for “indicators” such as whether the per-son bought an expensive one-way ticket with cash, if the person is traveling from or to a city known as a hot spot for drug activity, if the person’s story has inconsist-encies or if the large sums of money found could have been transported by more conventional means.

“We don’t have to prove that the person is guilty,” Waite said. “It’s that the money is presumed to be guilty.”

DEA agents may choose to ask the person whether his or her possessions can be searched in what is called a “consensual encounter.” If the subject refuses, the bags – but not the person – can be held until a search warrant is obtained, he said.

Waite said that he could not provide exact figures on how often seizures occur in Al-buquerque but that last week the DEA had five “consensual encounters” that resulted in seizures.

Whatever is seized is held during an internal administrative process (read: not public) while a case is made to connect the property to narcotics. Subjects can file a claim to have the items returned – and then they wait, sometimes forever.

While travelers like Rivers still have to worry about DEA agents, state and local law enforcement in New Mexico no longer has these virtually unlimited seizure pow-ers. Five days before Rivers’ encounter in Albuquerque, Gov. Susana Martinez signed into law a bill that bars state and local law enforcement from seizing money or property under civil asset forfeiture. The law takes effect in July.

But the new state law won’t supersede the federal law, meaning federal agencies such as the DEA are still free to take your cash on arguably the flimsiest of legal grounds.

Meanwhile, Rivers is back in Michigan, dreaming, praying.

“He’s handed this over to God,” his at-torney said.

Which seems infinitely safer than hand-ing over anything further to government agents.

Run by David and Barbara Mikkelson, two abso-lutely unqualified Coincidence Theorists, snopes.com can be relied upon to relent-lessly provide a "that's nothing to worry about" angle on any and every troubling fact brought to light by the now promi-nent independent media. A good exam-ple of the formulaic and dismissive style of Snopes is their entry on the amazingly long list of mysterious deaths associated with the Clinton crime family, commonly referred to as the "Clinton body count."

They can't even get through an opening sentence without cynically misrepresent-ing the claims they wish to refute. Snopes begins by stating what they'd like you to believe is being claimed about the Clin-ton crime family:

• Claim: Bill Clinton has been quietly do-ing away with those who oppose him.

• Status: False

Snopes apparently wishes to address the claim that Bill Clinton, personally, has been committing murders of his political opponents like some super villain out of a Spider-Man comic. The only problem with this claim is that no one has actually

made it. Catering to the adolescent de-sire to mock and dismiss questions rather than confront them, Snopes hides behind this straw man argument like Gollum hiding behind a rock, hinging their snarky article on the bet that their audience will accept this as a real claim and not look any further.

In reality, the claim being made is that there are nearly 50 deaths associated with the Clinton family, all with varying degrees of suspiciousness. These deaths are not of his political opponents per se, but deaths of individuals likely possess-ing damning information or evidence about the Clintons' [alleged - Ed] criminal activity. As should be expected, they make no attempt to deny the long list of

deaths connected to the Clintons, but rather immediately begin assuring their audience that this is nothing out of the ordinary, as if every political dynasty has at least twelve bodyguards who've been killed.

Instead of making an honest acknowl-edgement that this body count is, at the absolute least, extremely peculiar and worthy of further examination, they choose instead to nitpick over the choice of the word "mysterious" to describe these deaths. In a stale attempt at sar-casm, they offer a point by point guide to how they believe these wacky accusa-tions are formed. On of their rules is as follows:

• Play word games. Make sure every death is presented as "mysterious."

So let's review some of the deaths that snopes.com do not find the least bit curious:

• James McDougal - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confine-ment. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation.

• Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Star-bucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harass-ment in the White House.

• Vince Foster - Former white House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.

• Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke pub-licly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors.

• C. Victor Raiser II - & - Montgomery Raiser, Major players in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July1992.

• Paul Tulley - Democratic National Com-mittee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock, September 1992. Described by Clinton as a "Dear friend and trusted advisor".

• ccccEd Willey - Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on

the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

• Jerry Parks - Head of Clinton's gu-bernatorial security team in Little Rock. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.

• James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "Black Book" of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas.

• James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to White-water.

• Kathy Ferguson, ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were go-ing somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

• Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiancee of Kathy Ferguson.Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiancee.

• Gandy Baugh - Attorney for Clinton's friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client was a convicted drug distribu-tor.

• Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds.

• Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkan-sas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death.

• Paula Grober - Clinton's speech inter-preter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992. She died in a one car accident.

• Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas

Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation.

• Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. Had deliv-ered a report to Janet Reno three weeks before his death.

• Jon Parnell Walker - Whitewater inves-tigator for Resolution TrustCorp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guarantee scandal.

• Barbara Wise - Commerce Depart-ment staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Com-merce.

• Charles Meissner - Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.

• Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the Na-tional Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advi-sory council personally treated Clinton's mother, stepfather and brother.

• Barry Seal - Drug running pilot out of Mena Arkansas, death was no accident. • Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.

• Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guarantee. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never re-leased.

• Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded.

• Kevin Ives & Don Henry - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug op-eration. A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.

Apparently for Snopes, anything short of a photograph of Bill and Hillary covered in blood while in the process of com-mitting these murders simply doesn't warrant their attention. If it's not spelled out explicitly by their father figures in the corporate media, it simply cannot be true. The website constantly appeals to corporate media to shed light on crimes committed by the owners of corporate media. As far as the Mikkelsons are

concerned, the term "conflict of interest" may as well be as fictitious as a hyper-drive, or a photon torpedo.

Rather than addressing questions head on, the strategy they employ to bully their readers into submission is to find a bit of peripheral minutiae and to dwell upon it as if it were actually the point in question. For example, after admitting that the Clinton body count is indeed real, they immediately change the subject to whether or not corporate media has ignored these deaths. In a telling display of naivete, they acknowledge that no, the corporate media in fact did not expose these curious deaths at the time of their occurrence. But don't worry, Snopes fans, they did eventually mention a few of them in passing, years after the fact.

In an overanxious attempt to reinforce the pre-9/11 comfort zone we all remember so well, the Mikkelsons seemingly find comfort in the fact that lip service was eventually and unenthusiastically paid by the corporate media, on the issues of the Clinton body count. Timeliness and con-text matter not to them. As far as they're concerned, the corporate media they deify has fulfilled its obligation as long as mention of a topic is made, quality of coverage and extensiveness of coverage be damned.

Particularly cringeworthy is their ri-diculous claim that since Clinton was exposed for having "sexual relations" he therefore couldn't possibly have any larger skeletons in his closet:

If the data doesn't fit your conclusion, ignore it. You don't have to explain why the people who claim to have the most damaging goods on Clinton – Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Linda Tripp, Monica Lewinsky, Kenneth Starr – are still walking around unscathed while dozens of bit players have been bumped off. It's inconvenient for you, so don't mention it.

It takes a special caliber of naif to believe that the Monica Lewinsky affair was the height of political scandals to be ex-posed, and not merely a hyper-politicized attack from opposing factions. In an envi-ronment such as Washington DC, where everyone lives in a glass house, the fact that no one throws any big stones is apparently a great source of comfort for the anti-thinkers at Snopes.com. ...but conspiracy theories don't die that easy.

This is correct. "Conspiracy theories" don't die that easily. In fact, no state-ments or claims die that easily, since merely appealing to the fact that corpo-rate media "hasn't found" any evidence is a remarkably shallow and meaningless statement. According to the legendarily insular worldview of Snopes, all that's required to establish the truth or false-hood of a statement is to turn to corpo-rate media and ask if it's true or not. And that, friends, concludes the investigative phase of Snopes.com's research. Imag-ine the chaos that would ensue if every-day law enforcement was conducted in the same way:

Police: “Hey Jeffery Dahmer, some people are saying nasty things about you having body parts in your freezer. Is that true, or what?”

Dahmer: “Me? Are you kidding? No way!”

It's not hard to understand why promot-ing this mindset has been so successful for the Mikkelsons. It's easier to be told a comforting story than to do your own research. And for Snopes and other cor-porate media lackeys, there's a stigma attached to doing one's own research. In order for a fact to enter into their real-ity, it must first be broadcast through a medium that contains commercials and sponsors. They are gatekeepers in the truest sense of the term.

The latest assault on human and civil rights in the United States has been qui-etly taking shape, but rather than media and public outcry, this attack is being met with cheers from the very corners that condemn other forms of discrimination.

What is the object of this attack? Be-lieve it or not, it’s adults who have not complied with the vaccination schedule pushed by the Centers for Disease Con-trol (CDC). Unfortunately, medical tyranny is alive and well.

Unvaccinated adults ought to be very concerned

In February, the National Vaccine Adviso-ry Committee (NVAC) put otherwise law-abiding American adults on notice that refusing to fall into lockstep with federal vaccine recommendations will no longer be tolerated. To that end, public health officials have formulated a plan to launch an immense nationwide vaccination public relations attack involving private business and nonprofit organizations.

So, you may be wondering – ‘what’s the goal?’ It’s quite simple, to employ high-pressure tactics for getting adults to comply with the CDC adult vaccination schedule. I can hardly believe this is be-ing allowed in the United States.

Blatant discrimination in the ‘Land of the Free’

In a country where the rights of citizens of all ages who are affected with any number of health issues are adamantly defended, it is shocking to find little pub-lic outcry over the blatant discriminatory action of government officials against the rights of a group of citizens who pose no threat to public health.

What’s really behind this agenda to vac-cinate the population?

Think about it. Every day, citizens affect-ed with tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea, hepatitis C, AIDS, and other infectious diseases are not only allowed to move freely about society, but are protected from discrimination in the public work-

place or education setting. Yet, non-vaccinated individuals are now coming under attack.

The movement to condemn parents of non-vaccinated children, and the medical staff that support their decisions, began in January 2015 – when nine visitors to California’s Disneyland were identified as having measles. After two weeks, the number climbed to 51, yet no public health official could identify the patient originally infected.

Despite the inability to pinpoint the cause, a media firestorm began with newspapers coast to coast proclaiming a single “non-vaccinated” individual with measles had caused the outbreak, and it was all due to a noticeable decline in parents having their children vaccinated.The mainstream media refuses to report a simple truth about vaccines

It is known that the effectiveness of the measles vaccine, like that of many other vaccines, wanes over the years. Plus, only about 1.8 percent of children enter kindergarten with vaccine exemptions – so, in other words, this ‘measles out-break’ was blown way out of proportion.

Yet, the Disneyland measles event was attributed to what was characterized as ignorance and indifference on the part of parents who chose not to risk vaccinating their children. While these attacks in the media grew, the lack of coverage on the real harm that immunizations have done to some children continued to be swept under the rug.

Are we killing civil rights for the almighty dollar?

Enter the new National Adult Immuni-zation Plan, a government-sponsored program that aggressively targets pregnant women, faith-based organiza-tions, employers and employees, along with other adults. The precedent has been set with healthcare workers already fined for refusing to get their annual flu shot – despite scientific evidence that shows vaccines works less than half the time at best, and is a complete failure at its worse.

A dozen states have already introduced bills to eliminate vaccine exemptions, stripping parents of their rights to decide what is best for their children. Yet, these politicians pay little mind to citizens in their states who have had children injured or killed because of vaccinations. In Vermont, a physician-turned-politician is strong-arming a bill that will required educators and other school staff to prove

they have received government-recom-mended vaccines or undergo re-vaccina-tion in order to keep their jobs.

When it comes to protection of hu-man rights, it seems the buck stops at the $30 billion global vaccine market, a well-known and lucrative private-public partnership that has made bedfellows out of government and the pharmaceutical industry. That cozy relationship is likely to grow even closer as the vaccine market is expected to increase by another $100 billion in the next decade – thanks in part to every American’s tax dollars fueling the big pharma machine.

The assault on non-vaccinated citizens is not likely to slow down. Laws could be enacted that deny education, health insurance, medical care, public transpor-tation, public entertainment, a driver’s license, filing taxes or any number of ac-tivities without showing proof of govern-ment-recommended vaccinations.

It is not out of the realm of possibilities that parents choosing to shield their chil-dren from vaccine dangers, and the fam-ily doctors who support their decisions, could find themselves facing criminal charges.

If possible, get involved in political action groups seeking to give a voice to citizens who choose to avoid vaccine dangers. Participate in public advocacy groups working to protect your rights and the rights of your children. And, of course, support the grassroots effort to stand up to the multi-billion dollar public-private pharmaceutical cartels.

Educate yourself and share this informa-tion with your family and friends. Write your locally-elected officials and make your voice heard. Together, we can create a better world for ourselves and future generations.

The Federal Reserve bank and its own-ers, the largest banks on Wall Street, want badly to be able to charge you interest for the privilege of depositing your funds. The problem is getting you to stand for it.

Depositors already complain vigorously about zero percent returns on checking and savings accounts. If they must start actually paying the bank to hold funds on deposit, many will opt to simply withdraw the cash and stuff it under their mattress or into a safe deposit box. That simply won’t do.

The Goal Is to Force You to Deposit Cash and Charge You Interest

Bankers in the U.S. can learn something from the Swiss. The Swiss National Bank recently implemented negative interest rates without first solving the "problem" of how to prevent cash from fleeing the banks. Predictably, depositors started doing some math.

In one example, a sizable Swiss pension fund, calculated it would save 25,000 francs for every 10 million it held in the bank by simply withdrawing those mil-lions and taking the bales of paper francs to be kept in a vault. The vault storage fees are less expensive than the negative interest rate.

Jumping the gun on the implementation of negative rates put the Swiss banks in an awkward situation. Like all fractional reserve lenders, they don’t have any-where near enough cash to make good on the withdrawals that may be coming. The bank holding the pension money had little choice but to refuse the client’s demand for millions of francs – funds the client is contractually entitled to. Telling clients “sorry, you can’t make a with-drawal” never goes over too well!

Nevertheless, the Swiss National Bank is sticking to its guns. It is encouraging re-tail banks to be “restrictive” with regards to cash withdrawals. And it is berating actors such as the pension fund for trying to circumvent negative interest rates. Apparently no one should be questioning the wisdom behind the policy! But the bluster isn’t hiding the fact that bank-ers stand upon shaky legal ground. The potential for a run on the banks remains.Insiders here look anxious to avoid a

similar situation. Willem Buiter, the chief economist at CitiBank, thinks he’s got the answer to this banker’s quandary. Simply abolish cash. Or tax it punitively. He isn’t the only one supporting this radi-cal solution. Other economists, including the prominent Harvard professor Ken-neth Rogoff, also think banning cash is a grand idea.

If depositors’ response to negative inter-est rates is predictable, so is the reaction from central planners. Effective herding is all about limiting the escape routes for members of the herd.

Eliminating physical cash may well be a longer-term project, but it is not some-thing the Fed can likely implement any time soon. In the meantime, there are other ways to prevent depositors from making their escape.

Banks can also implement new policies of their own. Joseph Salerno from the Mises Institute discovered JPMorgan Chase leading the way. The bank very recently began test driving new rules in Cleveland as well as other markets.The bank will no longer accept cash from customers who want to use it to make mortgage payments, pay credit card bal-ances or to cover their automobile loan.

No Cash or Bullion Allowed in Safe Deposit Boxes

Chase also rolled out new restrictions on what can be put into safe deposit boxes. The “Updated Safe Deposit Box Lease Agreement” customers must sign states, “You agree not to store any cash or coins other than those found to have a collect-ible value.”

Expect other banks to follow suit shortly. The new rules go on top of decades of inflationary monetary policy, making paper cur-rencies worth perpetually less over time. Clearly bank-ers are plumb-

ing customers’ tolerance for pain.

More and more people will be looking for ways to make it stop. This is where things promise to get interesting for gold and silver investors.

Financial repression, the attempt to force citizens to accept the govern-ment shears, has long been a driver of demand for physical precious metals. This demand will accelerate as measures become more draconian. Some bank customers, perhaps even the Swiss pen-sion fund mentioned above, will decide that bullion is a better option than sitting on bales of depreciating paper currency or paying banks to hold deposits.

Here in the U.S., the banks are central to just about all bureaucratic efforts at con-trol. Look for droves of people to try and sidestep the banks and the dollar itself. The next decade or two is almost certain to see rapid innovation in alternative ways to store value and transact. Ways that preserve privacy and are beyond the reach of bureaucrats. As these new sys-tems seek to gain trust and acceptance, precious metals are almost certain to play a much bigger role.

The popular narrative surrounding the conflict between the West and Iran has always been one of a dangerous rogue state bent on obtaining nuclear weapons before triggering a nuclear-fueled Armageddon aimed at Israel. Underneath this elementary propaganda, lies a more complex truth underpinning a proxy conflict between East and West. Just as had been the case during World War I and II, the stra-tegic position, resources, and population of Iran constitute a necessary prerequisite to first overcome before containing and eventually overrunning the political order in Moscow. This time around, in addition to Moscow, the Western axis also seeks to eventually encircle and overrun Beijing as well.

Unlike during the World Wars, vast wars of attrition and mecha-nized invasions are not a possibility today. Instead, a concerted campaign of proxy wars, covert political subversion, sanctions, and other non-military instruments of power are being em-ployed in what is for all intents and purposes a global conflict.

Increasingly defining the fronts of this conflict, in addition to political and economic alliances, is the presence of “missile walls,” or national missile defense programs being erected by both East and West.

Where these missile walls end, is generally where the West's overt military aggression begins. In Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, where such missiles systems are absent, the West has or is bombing these nations with absolute impunity. The United Nations, in theory, should have prevented armed aggres-sion against Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, but has categori-cally failed to do so. In nations possessing formidable missile defenses, direct Western aggression has become more or less unthinkable, leaving less efficient proxy wars and political sub-version to do the job.

The presence of missile defense systems capable of checking Western military aggression may be what is needed to establish both a balance of power globally, and the global stability the UN has promised but has so far failed to deliver.

Iran, the Last Watchtower In places like Iran where proxy wars cannot easily be waged, and foreign-backed political subversion has been checked, the West has for years planned military options to achieve regime change in Tehran. Encapsulated in the Brookings Institution's “Which Path to Persia?” report, these options include the use of diplomatic negotiations, particularly in regards to Iran's civil nuclear program, as a means to justify military strikes on Iran's nuclear research facilities. The strikes will surely not lead to re-gime change in and of themselves, but Western policy-makers hope the attacks will provoke an Iranian retaliation the West could then use to expand military operations to include regime change.

Written in 2009, “Which Path to Persia?” includes multiple sce-

narios that have now demonstrably been tried, and have failed. Remaining is the use of positive nuclear talks initiated by the United States in what is meant to appear as an act of good faith toward Iran. Israel is tasked with unilaterally attacking Iran's nuclear facilities, claiming America's “betrayal” left them with no other choice. Again, in hopes that Iran retaliates, or in the wake of a false flag attack meant to appear as an Iranian retaliation, the US would step in to assist Israel.

In other words, the nuclear deal is a canard, with the West not only having no intention of honoring it, but planning to use it as justification first for an attack on their nuclear facilities, followed by a joint coalition aimed at removing the Iranian government by force.

What “Which Path to Persia?” may not have counted on, was, however, Russia's growing influence in the ongoing conflict and its ability to exploit the window of opportunity opened briefly by the West's disingenuous “good will” it has shown Tehran with its alleged “rapprochement.”

The West’s claiming that it is satisfied with Iran's terms and commitment to the nuclear deal, has pushed it forward for formal signing in upcoming months. Predictably, while this satisfaction should in theory lead to the lifting of sanctions, the West has made no gesture of good will to do so yet.

Russia for its part has begun lifting sanctions. This includes an oil-for-goods deal it has established with Iran, as well as delivery of several S300 anti-air missile systems. The missiles in particular, left undelivered for five years, may significantly com-plicate any attempts by the West to betray Iran in the signing and honoring of the current nuclear deal. With the procurement and effective deployment of S300 missile systems, Iran will find itself behind a “missile wall” that will drastically raise the stakes for an already potentially risky act of military aggression against Tehran by either Israel, the US, or both – or Saudi Arabia who has recently begun unilaterally bombing its neighbor Yemen.

The Hand-Wringing Begins

In the wake of Russia's decision to deliver the S300 systems, German Chancellor Angela Merkel pleaded that the sanctions be lifted “as cohesively as possible.” In other words, at the same time, and only when the West says so.

One must wonder, if the West were truly committed to rap-prochement with Iran, then why hasn't it, as an act of good faith, lifted at least some sanctions to relieve the socioeconomic punishment it has been inflicting on the Iranian people for years? One must also wonder why the West has reacted nega-tively to Russia's own lifting of sanctions, as well as the delivery of a purely defensive weapon system.

The West, one might suspect, would only berate Russia for de-livering a defensive system to Iran, if the West planned treach-ery all along. Just as the US did with Iraq, Syria, and Libya, with various phases of rapprochement with each respective nation

achieved before the US either annihilated them or attempted to do so, there is every reason to believe it will likewise betray Iran.

The negative response by the West regarding the delivery of the S300 missile systems also rings particularly hypocritical, since the West is well on its way to erecting its own “missile wall” around both Russia and China. Assurances by the West that neither Russia nor China have anything to fear by these purely “defensive” missile systems is now being reciprocated by Moscow in regards to Iran's now augmented missile defense capabilities.

How Strong is the Wall?

The S300 is, according to various sources including the US-based International Assessment and Strategy Center (IASC), one of the most formidable missile defense systems being fielded. According to one IASC report titled, “Almaz S-300 – China's “Offensive” Air Defense,” it states: The S-300 SAM systems remain one of the most lethal, if not the most lethal, all altitude area defence SAM systems in ser-vice, with a range of more capable derivatives entering service in Russia, or in development.

The report points out that the missile systems not only defend a nation's airspace, but could deny neighboring air forces the ability to defend their own airspace. This might explain why NATO, led by the US, has been erecting missile networks around Russia and China for years.

However, there are no known instances of an S300 being fired in actual combat. The deterrence the S300 poses is only as good as the forces employing the system and the actual capa-bilities of the missiles themselves. It is known that NATO has already conducted exercises in Europe focusing specifically on circumventing Russian-made air defense systems. One such exercise conducted in 2005 called “Trial Hammer” involved what is called ‘Suppression of Enemy Air Defense’ (SEAD). Such exercises may already be working on ways to circumvent or neutralize systems like the S300.However, the risk is, should Israel or the US launch an attack

on Iran once the S300s are in place and significant numbers of aircraft are lost, not only will the operation fail and an expensive and humiliating blow be dealt to the forces involved, but the veil of invincibility of Western military might, especially its airpower, will be lost forever, triggering a cascade of rebellion across the “international order” the West has created primarily under the threat of military force.

Additionally, should Iran down a significant number of aircraft involved in any unilateral act of military aggression against its territory, it will have fulfilled a proportional “retaliation”, negating the need to respond further, and making a false flag attempted in Iran's name appear all the more obvious. The West would have a failed operationally, strategically, and geopolitically.

Because of this, perhaps, regardless of the true capabilities of the S300, the risk will be too great to attempt this last gamble left to Western policymakers attempting to stop Iran's establish-ment as a permanent regional power, for all intents and pur-poses immune to Western military aggression.

As suggested by other analysts, this may not remove altogether the threat of US designs against Russia via Iran. If forced to accept normal relations with Iran, and by actually removing sanctions, Iranian hydrocarbons would begin flooding the market and dropping prices Russia has long benefited from and depended on. Whether that option appeals to Western policymakers more than potentially dashing a half century of perceived military invincibility against Iran's missile defense systems remains to be seen.
