The Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security is an 18 credit hour, stand-alone program for students to advance their understanding of cyber threats, information assurance, and digital crime investigation. Students will develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to secure organizational data as information experts in an information technology-dependent enterprise.
Students are prepared to evaluate the impact of hacker and computer espionage activities, identify common attacks on IT networks and explain the motivations behind them, and demonstrate comparative understanding of benefits gained from applying various security measures. Students will also learn to describe and utilize methods and tools to maintain system access during penetration testing.
