Number of people with dementia in the UKAt present 821,884 people
By 2025 1 million people
By 2051 1,735,087 people
•11, 000 to 15, 000 estimated people with dementia from BME groups
•No estimated numbers from South Asian groups•Predicted the numbers will rise quickly
Gap in the literature
• More US based studies than UK
• A hidden problem for a hidden population
• Few UK based studies among South Asian
• Generalization
• No studies among Bangladeshis
