English Meaning: All praise is due to Allah, we praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah the Most High from the evils of our own selves and from our wicked deeds. Whomever Allah guides cannot be misguided, and whomever Allah He leaves astray, cannot be guided. I testify that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah alone without any partner or associate, I further testify that Muhammad (sallaAllahu alaihi wa salaam) is His true slave and Messenger. May Allah Salah and Salaam be upon him and Allah’s blessings granted to the prophet's pure family and to all of his noble companions Aameen Amma Ba'd: (To Proceed) Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh The following companion lessons are a compilation of information for students studying the text of Kitaabat-Tawheed and should be used as a reference or aide for a more specific and detailed study of the topics inshaAllah for live courses at THM Sadaqa Group from the book "An Explanation of Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab's Kitab Al-Tawhid" and explained by Allamah Abd al-Rahman al-Sa'di It is advised that you purchase the book to follow along with each lesson given, but you may also find the pdf version for online study (Arabic portions may not be present in the copy) and Allah knows best. Allah Alone is the Creator of the

and causes death. It also requires

belief that Allah is the Provider,

Companion Lesson 1 Explanation of Tawheed

Text pgs. 21 - 28

Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah: Means believing in the Oneness of Allah's Lordship, In detail we as Muslims believe that Allah Alone is the Creator of the whole universe and its Designer, and that it is He Who gives life and causes death. It also requires belief that Allah is the Provider, the Sustainer, the Powerful and the Firm Possessor of strength and that He is the Controller of all things.

Tawheed ul-Uluhiyyah: Means believing the Oneness of Allah's Divinity; In detail we as Muslims believe (that no one deserves to be worshiped except Allah alone) meaning that all kinds of worship should be directed to none but Allah. The Arabic word Al -Uluhiyyah means worship and the word “Ilâh” means 'the Worshipped One

Tawheed ul Asmaa wa Siffat: From Eemaan (faith) in Allaah is to have Eemaan in those of His (Beautiful names) and (Lofty Attributes) that occur in His Great Book and that have been affirmed by His trustworthy Messenger Muhammad (sallaAllahu `alaihi wa sallaam) in the Sunnah. We do this, without (distorting the wording or the meaning), (or denying the Attributes), or (asking how) or (resembling Allaah to any of His creation). It is obligatory to leave them as they came, without (asking how) or (resembling Allaah to any of His creation). Along with this, it is also obligatory to have Eemaan in the meaning that Allaah-the Mighty and Majestic-has been described with, in a way which befits Him: without resembling Him to His creation in any of His attributes. Example 1: We say as Allah says that He is All-Seeing and we affirm that Allah has sight. However, we do not ask how does He see? Nor compare Him to how we see things neither. Allah says in the Noble Quran: “O you who believe! Be not like those who disbelieve (hypocrites) and who say to their brethren when they travel through the earth or go out to fight: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed," so that Allah may make it a cause of regret in their hearts. It is Allah that gives life and causes death. And Allah is All-Seer of what you do.”

Learning About Tawheed Part 1 Muhkamat Ayaat (Entirely Clear Verses)

Worksheet Activity Chapter 1 – Lesson 1.9

Study and Memorize ayaat from Surah Al-Isra: 22 - 39

The Prohibitions

“Set not up with Allah any other Ilâh (god), (O man)! (This verse is addressed to Prophet

Muhammad SAW , but its implication is general to all mankind), or you will sit down reproved,

forsaken (in the Hell-fire). (22)

And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents.

If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor

shout at them but address them in terms of honor. (23)

And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord!

Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young." (24)

Your Lord knows best what is in your inner-selves. If you are righteous, then, verily, He is Ever

Most Forgiving to those who turn unto Him again and again in obedience, and in repentance. (25)

And give to the kinsman his due and to the Miskîn (poor) and to the wayfarer. But spend not

wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift. (Tafsir. At-Tabarî) (26)

Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatîn (devils), and the Shaitân (Devil Satan) is ever

ungrateful to his Lord. (27)

And if you (O Muhammad SAW) turn away from them (kindred, poor, wayfarer, whom We have

ordered you to give their rights, but if you have no money at the time they ask you for it) and you

are awaiting a mercy from your Lord for which you hope, then, speak unto them a soft, kind word

(i.e. Allah will give me and I shall give you). (28)

And let not your hand be tied (like a miser) to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach

(like a spendthrift), so that you become blameworthy and in severe poverty. (29)

Truly, your Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills and straitens (for whom He wills).

Verily, He is Ever All-Knower, All-Seer of His slaves. (30)

And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We shall provide for them as well as for you. Surely,

the killing of them is a great sin. (31)

And come not near to the unlawful sexual intercourse. Verily, it is a Fâhishah [i.e. anything that

transgresses its limits (a great sin)], and an evil way (that leads one to Hell unless Allah forgives

him). (32)

And do not kill anyone whose killing Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause. And whoever is

killed wrongfully (Mazluman intentionally with hostility and oppression and not by mistake); We

have given his heir the authority [(to demand Qisâs, Law of Equality in punishment— or to forgive,

or to take Diya (blood - money)]. But let him not exceed limits in the matter of taking life (i.e he

should not kill except the killer). Verily, he is helped (by the Islamic law) (33)

And come not near to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full

strength. And fulfil (every) covenant. Verily! the covenant, will be questioned about. (34)

And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight. That is good

(advantageous) and better in the end. (35)

And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge.

Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those one will be questioned (by Allah).

(36)

And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance. Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate

the earth, nor can you attain a stature like the mountains in height. (37)

All the bad aspects of these (the above mentioned things) are hateful to your Lord. (38)

This is (part) of Al-Hikmah (wisdom, good manners and high character) which your Lord has

revealed to you (O Muhammad SAW ). And set not up with Allah any other Ilâh (god) lest you

should be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected, (from Allah’s Mercy).” (39)
