n Check or Direct Deposit shows after current name and address we have on file.

n Vacation: displays total vacation hours available, if applicablen Sick: displays total sick hours availablen Comp Time: displays total comp hours available, if applicablen Indicates your T/B (tuberculosis test) expiration date

n Employee ID: your six-digit employee identification numbern Federal: shows what you claim for Federal Taxesn State: shows what you claim for State Taxesn Exempt (Fed/State): shows if you claim Exempt for Federal and/or State Taxes

n Pay Location: used for internal distribution onlyn Check Number or Direct Deposit Advice Numbern Check Date: indicates the payroll issue daten Period Ending: indicates the period end date

n Pay Types: This box will contain pay types to help explain why you were paid a specific amount of money. We have approximately one hundred pay types. Some of the most common:

s Normal Pay s Overtime Pay s Longevity Pay for years of service s Supplemental Pay s 125 Additional Pay for not selecting medical benefits s Stipend PayFor additional descriptions, please see our Payroll website.

n Non-Taxable Deductions: These deductions reduce your earnings before taxes are calculated, which will lower your taxable gross. The first column shows the current deductions; the second column shows the year-to-date deductions. Some of the most common:

s Mandatory % deduction for retirement s Kaiser Foundation Health Plan l STRS (Classic and PEPRA) s Western Health Advantage l PERS (Classic and PEPRA) s Delta Dental s Annuities (403b and 457 plans)

n Taxable Deductions: These deductions reflect normal taxes and after-tax deductions. The first column shows the current deductions; the second column shows the year-to-date deductions.

s Taxes l Federal Tax l State Tax l Social Security Tax l Medicare Tax

s After Tax Deductions: some of the most common: l Union Dues l American Fidelity l Schools Financial Credit Union l Garnishments

n Employer Paid Detail: District contributions listed in this box are paid on your behalf, e.g., CALSTRS, CALPERS, Social Security, Medicare, State Unemployment, Workers’ Comp, Health plan, Dental plan, Vision plan etc.

n Total Compensation: The sum of the Total Employer Paid Benefits and your Total Employee Gross for the period.

n Summary shows the details of how your Net Pay was calculated. l Employee Gross Earnings: gross pay received l Total Non-Taxable Deductions: before tax deductions l Taxable Gross Earnings: gross pay less “before tax” deductions l Total Taxable Deductions: the sum of normal taxes and “after tax” deductions l Net Pay: your take-home pay
