Dear President Ronnie Vincent and Ann Nirmala
Hearty Congratulations on taking over
as the president of your illustrious
Club Rotary Jeevan Bima Nagar.
You are taking over as the president of your club at a very
exciting phase when Indian Rotarians are recognized all over
the world with the certification of ‘Polio Free India ’. This
success should give us the confidence and drive us to
undertake many more such humanitarian projects.
Rotary is an organization that has something for everyone. It
gives us an opportunity to come together and discover the
joy of Service. You have touched the hearts of countless poor
and deserving people in the society by the benevolence of
your various projects in the field of Health, Literacy
,Community and Youth development. Your ambulance
project to Globe Eye Foundation is an unique example of
your commitment to the welfare of the community.
Our International leader Gary Huang says members are our
biggest asset and are our most valuable resource. He has
given a clarion call to grow in number internally in the club
and externally by extension. I urge you to take this as priority.
He also says Light Up Rotary is not just a theme for the year
– It is a call for each of us to take action and make Rotary
stronger.
As you take up the mantle of leadership , Shailaja and I look
forward for yet another year of glory for your Rotary club in
the year 2014-15 when we all join hands to Light Up
Rotary to make rotary a shining example of doing good in
the world more than ever before.
Rtn. Manjunath Shetty
District Governor 2014-15

Dear Rotarians and Friends;
It is a great opportunity to serve in
Rotary and especially to be a part of
this young club, it is indeed a joy.
This club is growing as it takes every
step forward edging past the status of a small sized club to a
medium sized one.
We embark on our way forward together to take this club from a
small club to the next stage; while we take this path to build it
with even stronger ethos and highest echelons of the Rotary
Movement.
Vision is to achieve “Bigger, better and the best” being a strong
focus of each member of this club – To do good to humanity in
the truest sense and this shall prevail in the years to come. An
oath taken by the founders include the Charter President and all
the Past Presidents of this club who have engaged to provide in
a meaningful way to the needs of the society and communities
around by making a mark all through these years.
In my term to achieve this “we shall plan to execute” firstly
growth in membership by joining hands to grow this club
through all our friends, associates and acquaintances and further
to nurture each one of them who join our family to “ Light up
Rotary”.
I may never walk this path again but while I do it this year we
together shall continue to fervently support The Rotary
Foundation in the small way we can as the Foundation has been
instrumental to eradicate Polio in India and many such great
stories of times. We this year shall stand to support this cause in
our own small way.
The projects we shall do may be small in magnitude but it shall
be chosen for those who need us and we promise that we will be
there for them.
Leaving you with a quote during the passage of time as we go
along “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is
enough.”
Rtn. Ronnie Vincent

Dear Rotarian and Friends;
The moment of truth is here!! As they say, all good things have to come to an end and when you come to the
end of any enriching and rewarding experience, there is always a notion of mixed feelings – pride, that you have
discharged responsibilities to the best of your ability, sadness, for what you’ve come to enjoy will no longer be
there for you, albeit with the same level of intensity, as well as excitement too – in taking home the unmatched
learnings I have acquired in the past year, and applying that in future.
Nothing can be truer than what Lord Byron, one of the most romantic poets, once said “And when we think we
lead, we are most led. Leadership is a give and take process.” This is one thing that I firmly believe in… and I
feel truly blessed and humbled to have had a wonderful team.
Learning # 1: I was told that the President gets to do whatever he likes. Anything but true!! Yes, sometimes the
buck has to stop at someone and a decision has to be made, but this is ‘our’ club, the members’ club. Any
changes or decisions have to address our collective needs and consultation has to come first.
Learning # 2: Delegation. Delegation. Delegation. We have immense potential and amazing talents in this club,
and I have come to appreciate that even more in the past year and I think we can do much, much more in the
coming year(s). You ask someone to do something, and rest assured, it will be done to a level that far exceeds
your expectations. People join Rotary because they want to do things, and, they like to get involved. You learn
to leverage that, but we never take them for granted.
Learning # 3: You’ve got to give it a shot!! If you’re asked to perform a leadership role (or any task in Rotary
for that matter), just take it. Trust me, the journey is more than worth it
Friends,
Along with our social initiatives, our other main aim for the club this year is to have ample fun too, right? Also,
let’s collectively focus on increasing recognition for our club – within the Rotary community as well as the
community at large.
If you recall, I appealed to you a year back to do a couple of things:
Each one Bring One and Keep One!
Each One Adopt One!
Today, when I stand in front of you as Outgoing President (for one last time), I remember a quote by our
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji “Chappan Incha Ka Seena” – that’s how I would describe my
feelings!! And all our dreams not only got fulfilled, but we exceeded our own set goals. Three cheers to
everyone!! We deserve a pat on the back!! What do you say??
We have had quite a few significant accomplishments this year, and I intend to include a comprehensive list in
the outgoing Secretary report. But, for this occasion, I want to share only the key highlights with you now...bear
with me for a few more minutes before the spirits take over
One of our important achievements was taking this club from a Small club to Medium club level. We added 16
new members – I am told this is a record for a smaller club, so one more feather in our caps We won the
DG’s special award for membership for this very reason.
Club Services and Collaboration was the highlight of this year. We had joint meetings with 10 clubs. We went
to the Space Station, Sriharikota and enjoyed a Jungle Safari to the BR Hills. Dandiya Nite and half a dozen
other family dinners, fellowships and outings have helped in further strengthening the bonding between Rotary
families.
Community service outflow multiplied four times this year. RJBN launched Mobile Eye Clinic (the Project cost
was nearly Rs 10 Lakhs) and organized 50 eye camps and helped gift eyesight to 5000 people. RJBN donated
wheel chairs and installed RO Water Filters at City Railway station (Majestic). We’re sponsoring Mid-Day
Meals for nearly 40 special children at WARDS. Girls Glory Project, Heart Surgeries, Scholarship, Shelter for
homeless, 4200 Blood units’ collection and Immunizing 40,000 children on NID Polio were some of the great
feats RJBN achieved. We continued our support to APD, Govt School, Jeevanbimanagar, Reaching Hand, NAB
and a few other NGO Partners.
Our Youth Services Team has shown a new vigour and our Interact Clubs and Rotaract Club were highly
motivated, carrying out various projects like Skill Development, Energy Conservation Drive, Painting and Essay
Competition, Republic Day Celebration and Fistful Rice donation. We celebrated World Interact Week and
World Rotaract Week in great style. The icing on the cake is that our Interactor is the District Interact
Representative of this year. Let’s hear it for her
We published our Club Souvenir and this was widely circulated in our locality and corporates, which helped us
raise nearly 4 Lakhs for our Project. We have circulated 60,000 leaflets through newspapers, which gave us
great branding visibility in our locality and helped us add 6 new members to RJBN’s fold. Leading English and
Kannda dailies like the Times of India, The Hindu, Deccan Herald, Vijaya Karnataka, Prajavani, Kannada
Prabha and City Plus featured most of our major activities through the year. Rotary News carried a 2 page story
on our mobile eye clinic project and also featured Vocational Awards and Railway Project.
We contributed 10 PHFs and 1 Major Donor. We successfully completed one matching grant project and one
Global Grants Project is underway. I also had the opportunity to visit a few clubs overseas and RI HQ.
We supported Vocational Training for Special Children and the vocational awards were given to outstanding
Teachers. Errapali Prasanna, former international cricketer hailing from Karnataka, and Super Cop Gopal Hosur,
were conferred Vocational Excellence Awards by RJBN.
We supported almost all District Projects like Dialysis project, Dictionaries, Solar, Heart Surgery and nearly
50% of our Rotarians registered for the District Conference.
And……..the final lap of glory was ours when we were declared Best Club of the year 2013-14. Don’t you think
that’s a lot? Are you wondering did we achieve all these in just one year? Yes, of course
In more ways than one, RJBN has been a club that most others would want to emulate!!
Sample this. We can’t expect better than this awards’ tally!!
