Foundation of Peleman Saerens.

Guido Peleman becomes managing director and chairman.

Take-over of the General Binding Corporation (USA) subsidiary located in Antwerp.

Development and discovery of new resins for the UniCover.

Development of the new binding machines Unibind 45-85. More than

100,000 machines were sold in 80 countries worldwide.

Start of the Construction of a new warehouse in Puurs, Rijksweg 7, with a surface of 5,000 m2. Foundation of the 3rd subsidiary in Milan, Unibind Italia srl.

“I’ve been using the Unibind system for many years already.

With the Unibind binding system, my docu-ments always have the perfect presentation.

The system is easy to use and works very fast! And thanks to the crimping tool, I need fewer spine sizes. It’s nice working with Unibind!”

The UniBinder 8.2 not only binds and cools the documents. After the binding cycle, the document is put into a slot where the spine will be automatically crimped until it matches the bound document perfectly. The crimping element can crimp documents up to 36 mm.

The new UniCover System offers several benefits: thanks to the crimping, fewer spine sizes are needed. All sizes from 1 till 36 mm are replaced by only 5 spine sizes. Binding many different types of document styles is possible thanks to the flexible cover range. To improve the overall aesthetics, the cover types are available in 10 standard metallic colors.

The cover closes perfectly around the document. The crimping makes the spine fit better around the document and creates optical perfection. Extra binding strength is guaranteed: the crimping movement pushes the pages down and moves the sheets inside the melted resin.

The UniCover Sytem is innovative and can be used in every company that wants to present its documents in a professional way.
