What is Unified Communications Platform (UCP)?

Unified Communications Platform (UCP) PBX is the next generation pure Internet Protocol (IP) Enterprise Solution (IPECS) with 50 to 600 ports, designed to upgrade your legacy Private Branch Exchange (PBX) while delivering not only sophisticated telephony features, but also UC (Unified Communications) from a single platform.

UCP FunctionalityThe IPECS UCP Range offers built-in Unified Communications (UC) capability into the master gateway.

Telkom offers a cost effective Standard option and if you require advanced UC capability, the premium option is available.

The Standard version includes:• Presence registration for up to 50 users, • One-on-one Instant messaging and Outlook synchronisation.

The premium version includes:• Presence registration for up to 200 users, • One-to-many Instant Messaging, Outlook and Contact Synchronization, • Active Directory Synchronization, • Microsoft Exchange Integration, • Organization chart capabilities, • 6-Party Video Conferencing and • Collaboration via file sharing, white boarding and desktop sharing.

The UCP solution is license driven, but all the gateways, terminal equipment, switches and value added services (VAS) are fully backwards compatible with the IPECS Range. This forward and backward compatibility will allow for a seamless upgrade of the Master Gateways from the IPECS Range into the IPECS UCP range.
