Managing the Machine with the uniFLOWEmbedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP

This section describes the overview of the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP.

The uniFLOW server, a server in which the uniFLOW software is installed, detects the machine ina network and activates the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP in the machine.Once activated, the server and the machine continue communicating to accomplish the uniFLOWEmbedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP, providing you with features such as a user authenticationsystem and Secure Printing.

uniFLOW Server activates the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for CanonCMFP/SFP in the machine authenticates users provides setting information

Functions with the uniFLOW Embedded Applet forCanon CMFP/SFP uniFLOW server-based Authentication Secure Printing Using Cost Centers

CMFP and SFP stand for Compact Multifunctional Printer and Single Function Printer respectively, which donot have MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform). uniFLOW Embedded Applet for CanonCMFP/SFP makes functions such as Secure Printing available on the machines without MEAP.

What You Can Do with the uniFLOW Embedded Applet forCanon CMFP/SFP

Equipped in the machine are the functions activated by the uniFLOW server. The major functions are

as follows:

uniFLOW Server-based Authentication Modes and Log-in MethodsYou can manage the machine by limiting its use only to the users who are registered in the uniFLOW

server. There are two authentication mode options: authentication to the machine and to the Secure

Printing function, with various log-in methods such as by an ID card or by entering a PIN code. (See

Authentication Modes by the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP on p. 9and Log-in

Methods by the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP on p. 10.)

To use ID cards, optional NT-wares MiCard / microMIND Reader is required. For more information, see Log-inMethods by the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP on p. 10.

Secure PrintingYou can set the machine to keep documents unprinted until the user who sent the print data logs

in to the machine or the Secure Printing function. The documents are printed out only when the

user logs in at the machine. This means the user can securely collect confidential documents and

eliminate the problem of forgotten printouts in the machines output tray. This function is made

possible by the uniFLOW server (as a print server) that holds print jobs and wait for the user to log in.

For instructions on how to perform the Secure Printing function, see Keeping Documents Unprinted

Until Logging-In (Secure Printing), on p. 14.

Using Cost CentersYou can register cost centers (accounting tables for counting the costs for performed jobs) and allotthem to users in the uniFLOW server. Examples of cost centers usage are as follows:

Selecting a cost center when logging in:When a user logs in at the machine, a screen prompting the user to select a cost center appears on

the display. The user selects a cost center so that the uniFLOW server counts the cost for the users

job.

Displaying the cost for Secure Printing jobs:You can set the machine to display the calculated cost for the job on the display when a user is

performing Secure Printing at the machine.

The overview of the activation and settings of the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP

is as follows:

System EnvironmentTo activate the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP, the machine must be connected

to the uniFLOW server, a server in which the uniFLOW software is installed, over a network. For more

information, see the documentation included with the uniFLOW software.

Settings of the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFPThe settings of the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP such as user registration can be

made only on the uniFLOW server. Although no special settings on the machine are required, be sure

to check the Department ID and User ID Management*settings for a proper combination of these

conventional management modes and the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP. (See

Settings of Department ID and User ID Management for the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for CanonCMFP/SFP, on p. 11.)

* User ID Management is not available on some models.

Authentication Modes by the uniFLOW Embedded Applet forCanon CMFP/SFP

The uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP provides the following authentication modes:

Authentication to the MachineUsers are prompted to log in to the machine. This means that users must authenticate themselves

when they use the machines functions such as the copy or scan functions.

Authentication to the Secure Printing FunctionUsers are prompted to log in to the Secure Printing function. This means that users can use the

machines functions such as copy or scan functions without logging in at the machine. Instead, users

must authenticate themselves only when they use the Secure Printing function.

Log-in Methods by the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for CanonCMFP/SFP

The uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP provides the following log-in methods:

For instructions on how to register users and their authentication information such as user ID and password inthe uniFLOW server, see the documentation included with the uniFLOW software. For instructions on how to log in to the machine as the System Manager, see Operating the Machine As theSystem Manager, on p. 12.

ID Card

Hold your ID card over the MiCard / microMIND Reader. Do the same again to log out when youroperations are complete.

CMFP/SFP devices with embedded uniFLOW module directly support the following identification devices:- MiCard Hitag (V1|V2)

- MiCard HID (V1|V2)- MiCard Multi (Legic/Mifare) (V1|V2|V3) CMFP/SFP devices with the latest available firmware support microMIND devices. Basically any microMINDcompatible USB card reader can also be used for identification.

- microMIND (V1|V2) with MiCard Magnetic Reader

- microMIND (V1|V2) with a USB HID (Human Interface Device) compliant reader with special key file

User ID and Password

On the machines operation panel, enter your user ID and password. Press to log out when youroperations are complete.

PIN Code

On the machines operation panel, enter your PIN code. Press to log out when your operationsare complete.

Department ID and Password

On the machines operation panel, enter your department ID and password. Press to log outwhen your operations are complete.

The log-in method using the department ID and password is available only when Authentication to theMachine (p. 9) is applied as the authentication mode.

Before you use the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP, be sure to set the Department

ID and User ID Management settings on the machine as indicated on the table below. User ID

Management is not available on some models.

To use the department ID and password as the log-in method, follow the procedure below.- In the machine, register the System Manager ID and System Password for the System Manager.

- In the machine, register department IDs and passwords for other users (end users).

- On the uniFLOW server, assign the System Manager ID and System Password to the System Manager, andassign department IDs and passwords to other users (end users).

Operating the Machine As the System Manager

The log-in procedure for the System Manager varies depending on the applied authentication mode

provided by the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP. See the table below.

System Manager refers to the user who has access privileges to all the setting items of the machine.

Description

Authentication to theMachine

Log in to the machine with the ID card, user ID and password, PIN code, ordepartment ID and password for the System Manager.

Authentication to theSecure Printing Function

Enter the System Manager ID and System Password registered in the machinewhen you access the settings that require the System Manager privileges. If theSystem Manager ID and System Password are not set, any user can log in as theSystem Manager and can access all the settings.

When you register a user in the uniFLOW server, you can give the System Manager privileges to the user byfollowing the procedures below. The procedures and the privileges are applicable only when Authenticationto the Machine mode is applied. For more information, see the documentation included with the uniFLOWsoftware.

- For logging in with the ID card/user ID and password/PIN code, select the user type as the System Managerfor a user.

- For logging in with the department ID and password, assign the System Manager ID and System Password(the ones that are registered in the machine) to a user.

When you log in to the machine as an end user in Authentication to the Machine mode, you cannot accessthe settings that require the System Manager privileges. To access these settings, log out of the machine andagain log in as the System Manager.

When You Cannot Log in to the Machine and an ErrorMessage Is Displayed

If such a case occurs, the IP address of the machine may not be properly set. Reset the IP address to

resume communications between the machine and the uniFLOW server by following the procedure

below.

1 Perform any of the following operations.The operation varies depending on the model. Select on the display after thefollowing operation.

Press on the operation panel. Press the right Any key to select . Press on the display.

If a log-in screen is displayed, enter the System Manager ID and System Password, and press .

2 Check the IP address of the machine and reset it on .

For more information, see the manuals included with your machine.

3 Restart the machine.Turn OFF the machine and wait at least 10 seconds before turning it ON again.

Keeping Documents Unprinted Until Logging-In(Secure Printing)

This section describes how to print your documents with Secure Printing. Your documents sent from

a computer are kept unprinted until you log in. The machine prompts you to log in either when youstart operating the machine or using Secure Printing, depending on the applied authentication

mode (See p. 9). Follow either of the procedures below.

To Log in to the Machine First and Print Your Documents (Authentication

to the Machine):If a log-in screen is displayed when turning on the machine or clearing the sleep mode, log in to the

machine first to use the Secure Printing function.

1 On your computer, perform a command for printing the document youwant to print.

Click [Print] or [OK] on the dialog box of the printer driver. The command name varies depending onthe application software you are using.

2 Log in to the machine as indicated on the display.For more information, see Log-in Methods by the uniFLOW Embedded Applet for Canon CMFP/SFP,on p. 10.

3 Select the cost center.If the screen for selecting the cost center is not displayed, proceed to the next step.

4 Start the operation for the Secure Printing function.Perform any of the following operations depending on the model you are using.

5 Select the jobs to print.

If the screen for selecting the jobs to print is not displayed, proceed to the next step.

Depending on the model, you can perform optional operations such as deleting unnecessary jobs orviewing the detailed information on the selected job.

6 Start printing as indicated on the display.

7 Log out of the machine.

To Log in to the Secure Printing Function (Authentication to the Secure

Printing Function):

If a screen indicating the machine is ready for use is displayed, instead of a log-in screen, whenturning on the machine or clearing the sleep mode, log in to the Secure Printing function.

1 On your computer, perform a command for printing the document youwant to print.

Click [Print] or [OK] on the dialog box of the printer driver. The command name varies depending onthe application software you are using.

2 Start the operation for the Secure Printing function.

Les fonctions intgres la machine sont actives par le serveur uniFLOW. Voici les principalesfonctions disponibles :

Modes dauthentification serveur uniFLOW et mthodes de connexionVous pouvez grer limprimante en restreignant son usage aux utilisateurs enregistrs sur le serveuruniFLOW. Il existe deux possibilits dauthentification : lauthentification au niveau de limprimanteet lauthentification par la fonction dimpression scurise. Chacun des modes dauthentificationpropose diffrentes mthodes de connexion (par carte didentit* ou par saisie dun code PIN, parexemple). (Voir Modes dauthentification par luniFLOW Embedded Applet pour Canon CMFP/SFP,p. 8et Mthodes de connexion par luniFLOW Embedded Applet pour Canon CMFP/SFP, p. 9.)

Impression scuriseVous pouvez rgler limprimante de faon empcher limpression des documents tant quelutilisateur envoyant les donnes dimpression ne sest pas connect limprimante ou la fonctiondimpression scurise. Les documents ne sont imprims que lorsque lutilisateur se connecte limprimante. Cette procdure permet lutilisateur de rassembler, en toute scurit, des documentsconfidentiels et vacue le problme des impressions oublies dans le bac de sortie de limprimante.Cette fonction est possible grce au serveur uniFLOW (serveur dimpression) qui suspend les tchesen labsence de connexion de lutilisateur. Pour plus dinstructions sur lutilisation de la fonctiondimpression scurise, consultez Suspension de limpression de documents sans connexion

(Impression scurise), p. 13.

Utilisation des centres de cotsVous pouvez enregistrer les centres de cots (tables comptables pour le calcul des cots des tchesralises) et les imputer aux utilisateurs dans le serveur uniFLOW. Vous trouverez ci-dessous quelquesexemples dutilisation des centres de cots :

Slection dun centre de cots au moment de la connexion :Lorsquun utilisateur ouvre une session sur limprimante, un cran linvitant slectionner un centrede cots apparat sur laffichage. Lutilisateur choisit un centre de cots de sorte que le serveur

uniFLOW enregistre le cot de la tche effectue par lutilisateur.

Affichage du cot des travaux en mode dimpression scurise :Il est possible de rgler limprimante de manire afficher les cots gnrs par la tche surlaffichage lorsquun utilisateur recourt la fonction dimpression scurise de limprimante.

Environnement systmePour activer luniFLOW Embedded Applet pour Canon CMFP/SFP, limprimante doit tre relie auserveur uniFLOW (serveur sur lequel le logiciel uniFLOW est install) par le biais du rseau. Pour plusdinformations ce sujet, consultez la documentation accompagnant le logiciel uniFLOW.

Authentification par la fonction dimpression scuriseLes utilisateurs sont invits se connecter la fonction dimpression scurise. Dans ce cas, lesutilisateurs peuvent utiliser les fonctions de limprimante comme les fonctions de copie ou denumrisation sans sy connecter. En revanche, les utilisateurs doivent sidentifier ds lors quilsveulent utiliser la fonction dimpression scurise.

Authentification auniveau de limprimante

Connectez-vous limprimante en utilisant votre carte didentit, votre IDutilisateur et le mot de passe correspondant, le code PIN ou le numro de serviceet le mot de passe de ladministrateur systme.

Authentification par lafonction dimpressionscurise

Saisissez le code administrateur systme et le mot de passe systm enregistrssur limprimante lorsque vous accdez aux rglages ncessitant des privilgesdaccs administrateur. Lorsque le code administrateur systme et le mot depasse systm ne sont pas dfinis, nimporte quel utilisateur peut se connecter limprimante en tant quadministrateur systme et accder tous les rglages.

REMARQUE

Lorsque vous enregistrez un utilisateur dans le serveur uniFLOW, vous pouvez accorder des privilges daccsadministrateur systme lutilisateur en appliquant les procdures dcrites par la suite (les procdures et lesprivilges ne sont utilisables que si la fonction Authentification au niveau de limprimante est applique).Pour plus dinformations ce sujet, consultez la documentation accompagnant le logiciel uniFLOW.

- Pour se connecter avec la carte didentit/lID utilisateur et le mot de passe/le code PIN, choisissezladministrateur systme comme type dutilisateur.

- Pour se connecter avec le numro de service et le mot de passe, attribuez le code administrateur systme lemot de passe systm (ceux qui sont enregistrs sur limprimante) lutilisateur.

Si vous vous connectez limprimante comme utilisateur final en mode Authentification au niveau de

limprimante, il est impossible daccder aux rglages ncessitant des privilges daccs administrateur. Pouraccder ces rglages, dconnectez-vous de limprimante, puis reconnectez-vous en tant quadministrateursystme.

Connexion limprimante impossible et affichage dunmessage derreur

En pareille situation, ladresse IP de limprimante peut tre mal dfinie. Redfinissez ladresse IP pourrtablir les communications entre limprimante et le serveur uniFLOW comme dcrit par la suite.

1 Effectuez une des oprations suivantes.Lopration varie selon le modle. Slectionnez au niveau de laffichage aprslopration suivante.

Appuyez sur sur le panneau de commande.Appuyez sur la touche polyvalente droite pour choisir .Appuyez sur au niveau de laffichage.

Si un cran de connexion saffiche, saisissez le code administrateur systme et le mot de passesystm et appuyez sur .

2 Vrifiez ladresse IP de limprimante et redfinissez-la sur .

Das System ist mit den Funktionen ausgestattet, die durch den uniFLOW Server aktiviert wurden.Dies sind die Hauptfunktionen:

Serverbasierte uniFLOW Authentifizierungsmodi und Login-VerfahrenSie knnen das System verwalten, indem Sie die Verwendung auf die Anwender beschrnken, diebeim uniFLOW Server registriert sind. Es gibt zwei Optionen fr den Authentifizierungsmodus:Authentifizierung beim System oder bei der Geschtzter Druck-Funktion mit verschiedenenLogin-Verfahren wie z. Geschtzter DruckSie knnen das System so einrichten, dass die Dokumente erst ausgedruckt werden, wenn sich derAnwender, der die Druckdaten gesendet hat, beim System oder der Geschtzter Druck-Funktionanmeldet. Die Dokumente werden nur ausgedruckt, wenn sich der Anwender beim Systemanmeldet. Dies bedeutet, dass der Anwender vertrauliche Dokumente sicher sammeln kann undkeine vergessenen Ausdrucke im Ausgabefach des Systems verbleiben. Diese Funktion kann genutztwerden, weil der uniFLOW Server (als Druckserver) Druckauftrge zurckhlt und wartet, bis sichder Anwender anmeldet. Anleitungen zur Nutzung der Geschtzter Druck-Funktion finden Sie unterAusdrucken von Dokumenten bei der Anmeldung (Geschtzter Druck), auf S. 13.

Verwenden von KostenstellenSie knnen Kostenstellen (Abrechnungsaufstellungen fr die Kalkulation der Kosten frdurchgefhrte Auftrge) registrieren und sie im uniFLOW Server Anwendern zuweisen. Beispiele frdie Nutzung von Kostenstellen finden Sie unten:

Auswhlen einer Kostenstelle bei der Anmeldung:Wenn sich ein Anwender beim System anmeldet, wird ein Bildschirm im Display angezeigt, mitdem der Anwender zur Auswahl einer Kostenstelle aufgefordert wird. Der Anwender whlt eineKostenstelle, sodass der uniFLOW Server die Kosten fr den Auftrag des Anwenders berechnet.

Anzeigen der Kosten fr Geschtzter Druck-Auftrge:Sie knnen das System so einstellen, dass die berechneten Kosten fr den Auftrag im Displayangezeigt werden, wenn der Anwender die Geschtzter Druck-Funktion beim System nutzt.

Das uniFLOW Embedded Applet fr Canon CMFP/SFP bietet die folgenden Authentifizierungsmodi:

Authentifizierung beim SystemDie Anwender werden aufgefordert, sich beim System anzumelden. Dies bedeutet, dass dieAnwender sich selbst authentifizieren mssen, wenn sie die Funktionen des Systems nutzen, wie z.B.die Kopieren- oder Scan-Funktionen.

Authentifizierung bei der Geschtzter Druck-FunktionDie Anwender werden aufgefordert, sich bei der Geschtzter Druck-Funktion anzumelden. Diesbedeutet, dass die Anwender die Funktionen des Systems, wie die Kopieren- oder Scannen-Funktionen, nutzen knnen, ohne sich beim System anzumelden. Stattdessen mssen sich die

Anwender nur authentifizieren, wenn sie die Geschtzter Druck-Funktion nutzen.

Der Anmeldevorgang fr den Systemmanager variiert je nach dem vom uniFLOW Embedded Appletfr Canon CMFP/SFP angewendeten Authentifizierungsmodus. Siehe die Tabelle unten.

Der Begriff Systemmanager bezeichnet den Benutzer, der Zugriffsrechte auf alle Einstelloptionen des

Systems hat.

Eingabe der beim System registrierten Systemmanager-ID und desSystempassworts, wenn Sie auf die Einstellungen zugreifen, fr dieSystemmanager-Zugriffsrechte erforderlich sind. Wenn die Systemmanager-IDund das Systempasswort nicht konfiguriert sind, kann sich jeder Anwender alsSystemmanager anmelden und auf alle Einstellungen zugreifen.

HINWEIS

Wenn Sie einen Anwender beim uniFLOW Server registrieren, knnen Sie ihm anhand der unten aufgefhrtenSchritte Systemmanager-Zugriffsrechte geben. Die Schritte und Zugriffsrechte gelten nur, wenn der ModusAuthentifizierung beim System angewendet wird. Weitere Informationen finden Sie in der Dokumentationim Lieferumfang der uniFLOW Software.

- Zum Anmelden mit ID-Karte/Anwender-ID und Passwort/PIN-Code whlen Sie Systemmanager alsBenutzertyp fr einen Benutzer aus.

- Zum Anmelden mit Abteilungs-ID und Passwort weisen Sie einem Benutzer die Systemmanager-ID und dasSystempasswort (die im System registriert sind) zu.

Wenn Sie sich im Modus Authentifizierung beim System als Endanwender beim System anmelden, knnenSie nicht auf die Einstellungen zugreifen, fr die Systemmanager-Zugriffsrechte erforderlich sind. Um aufdiese Einstellungen zuzugreifen, mssen Sie sich beim System abmelden und als Systemmanager wieder

anmelden.

Wenn Sie sich nicht beim System anmelden knnen und eineFehlermeldung angezeigt wird

In einem solchen Fall ist mglicherweise die IP-Adresse des Systems nicht ordnungsgemeingerichtet. Richten Sie wie im Folgenden erlutert die IP-Adresse neu ein, um die Kommunikationzwischen dem System und dem uniFLOW Server wiederherzustellen.

1 Fhren Sie einen der folgenden Schritte aus.Das Vorgehen hngt vom Modell ab. Whlen Sie nach folgendem Schritt im Display aus.

Drcken Sie am Bedienfeld. Bettigen Sie die rechte Funktionstaste zur Auswahl von .Drcken Sie im Display.

Wenn ein Anmeldebildschirm angezeigt wird, geben Sie die Systemmanager-ID und dasSystempasswort ein und drcken Sie .

Il server uniFLOW, un server su cui installato il software uniFLOW, rileva la macchina in una rete eattiva lintegrazione uniFLOW Embedded Applet per Canon CMFP/SFP nella macchina. Una voltaattivata, il server e la macchina continuano a comunicare per effettuare lintegrazione uniFLOWEmbedded Applet per Canon CMFP/SFP, fornendo funzionalit come un sistema di autenticazioneutente e Stampa protetta.

La macchina dispone delle funzioni attivate dal server uniFLOW. Le funzioni principali sono leseguenti:

Modi di autenticazione e metodi di accesso basati sul server uniFLOW possibile gestire la macchina limitando il suo utilizzo ai soli utenti registrati sul server uniFLOW.Sono disponibili due opzioni per lautenticazione: autenticazione per la macchina e autenticazioneper la funzione Stampa protetta, con diversi metodi di accesso, per esempio tramite un documentodi identit* o mediante linserimento di un codice PIN. (Vedere Modi di autenticazione di uniFLOWEmbedded Applet per Canon CMFP/SFP, a p. 8e Metodi di accesso di uniFLOW Embedded Appletper Canon CMFP/SFP, a p. 9.)

Stampa protetta possibile impostare la macchina in modo da conservare i documenti senza stamparli finchlutente che ha inviato i dati di stampa non accede alla macchina o alla funzione Stampa protetta. Idocumenti vengono stampati solo dopo che lutente ha effettuato laccesso alla macchina. Questosignifica che lutente pu gestire con la massima sicurezza documenti riservati, inoltre elimina ilproblema di documenti stampati e dimenticati nei vassoio di uscita della macchina. Questa funzione possibile grazie al server uniFLOW (che funge da server di stampa) che trattiene i lavori di stampain attesa che lutente effettui laccesso. Per ulteriori istruzioni su come utilizzare la funzione Stampaprotetta, vedere Lasciare i documenti non stampati fino allaccesso (Stampa protetta), a p. 13.

Utilizzo dei centri di costo possibile registrare centri di costo (tabelle contabili per il conteggio dei costi dei lavori eseguiti) eaddebitarli agli utenti sul server uniFLOW. Esempi di utilizzo dei centri di costo sono i seguenti:

Selezione di un centro di costo al momento dellaccesso:Quando un utente effettua laccesso alla macchina, viene visualizzata una schermata che chiedeallutente di selezionare un centro di costo sul display. Lutente seleziona un centro di costo; il serveruniFLOW registra il costo per il lavoro dellutente.
