NEPEAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
All school uniform will be purchased from Back to Basics School Wear (52 Cox Avenue, Kingswood ror online at http://www.backtobasicsschoolwear.com.au). Clothing purchased from other stores will not be acceptable. The compulsory school wear will consist of items of clothing from the following lists:

Hats K–12(to be worn at all times whilst outdoors duringTerms 1 & 4)

Additional Uniform (11-12) Seniors• May wear any item of their Junior Secondary
school uniform• Expected to wear NCS Sports Uniform on
designated sports days• Maroon shirt from Back to Basics (with the
word “SENIOR” added to the logo• Senior Jacket designed by class - may been
worn at any time
SocksNormal school days
• must be plain white or plain black only• no stripes, no fi gures, no logos, no lace etc.• approximately10cm of sock must be seen
above the top of the shoe• socks must be worn below the knee cap
In cold weather girls may wear plain black stockings/tights instead of socks. The stockings/tights must wrap around the feet.
Sport/PE Days• must be plain white or plain black only• no stripes, no fi gures, no logos, no lace etc.• short socks are ok• socks must be worn below the knee cap
Exception: Students may be asked to wear long maroon socks with white stripes which can be purchased from the uniform shop (Back to Basics) for sports such as soccer, netball, football and hockey. Worn up to the knee cap.
ShoesNormal school days
• plain, black and fl at• leather school shoes or fi rm joggers• enclosed (i.e. the top of the foot must be
covered)• sole must be thick enough to prevent harm
from stepping on a pin tack• laces, clips or Velcro are satisfactory.
Unacceptable: Shoes such as sandshoes or gym boots or converse boots or slip-ons or canvasshoes. Shoes that expose the foot in any way (i.e.girls leather toe and strap shoes).

Elective lessons involving uniform variations Normal school uniform must be worn all day, except for during the elective lesson.
In Term 2 and 3:• Additional items for warmth; thermals, scarves, gloves, beanies and jackets may be worn providing
they are in a school colour and have no logos. An additional jacket may only be worn if theknitted maroon jumper, fl eecy maroon v neck sweater or zip up micro-fi bre (sports days) is wornunderneath. Additional items for warmth may only be worn to and from school.
• All items of clothing are to be worn in a neat and tidy manner and in line with the Uniform PolicyStatement and the Appearance Guidelines. No under layers should be visible.
• N.B. School colours are Maroon, Black and White only.
Appearance Guidelines
Students will endeavour to maintain their appearance so that it is presentable and professional in nature.These guidelines should be read in conjunction with the Uniform Particulars and any Subject special dressguidelines. For the sake of consistency, one female and one male teacher have responsibility to arbitrateany areas of confusion.
Body Piercing (except earrings) • Will be non-visible, tongue piercing is not allowed• Yrs11&12: One small nose stud is acceptable. Must be clear or skin coloured
Bracelets & Anklets• One plain bracelet may be worn (less than 10mm in width)• One plain anklet may be worn (less than 10mm in width)• One small dangling object from main bracelet/anklet is OK• Medical bracelets are OK
Earrings • Maximum of 2 on each ear• Only small studs or sleepers• Studs must be less than 5mm in diameter or diagonal• Sleepers must be less than 2mm thick and 15mm in diameter• No hoops, no dangling objects
Hair • Natural hair/natural coloured dyes are OK, e.g. application of red dye must result in natural red
tones• Whole hair should be the one colour – natural coloured highlights of close tone to rest of hair are
OK• No extremes, hair must appear neat and clean• Hair must remain out of eyes• Facial hair neat and trimmed

Hair Accessories • Small and plain.• Clips, scrunchies, bands, combs in a school colour (maroon, black or white) are acceptable
Make Up • Will not be noticeable• Yrs11&12:
– Subtle make-up is acceptable, natural tones only– No false eye lashes
Nail Polish• Will not be noticeable• Subtle nail polish is acceptable, natural tones only• No stick-ons or shellac nails
Necklaces• Plain and thin (less than 10mm thick) only. Will be worn against skin• One small dangling object only• Medical necklaces are OK• No chokers
Rings• Maximum of 3 total• Must be less than 5mm high
Skirts• Length must never appear higher than 10cm above the middle of the knee
Swimmers• Board shorts and rash shirts are OK• A shirt for sun protection must be worn at all times, unless competing in a race• Speedos and swimming costumes will only be visible whilst competing
Underwear• Will be non-visible
Wrist Watches• One only. No beeps – unless for important appointments only (e.g. BGL testing)• Smart watches will not be worn to school
