UNIMED aims at promoting,
in a multidisciplinary perspective,
interuniversity research and education…
…in order to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic
cooperation between the two Mediterranean shores
UNIMED engagement on Mobilityin the Mediterranean region
• UNIMED is engaged on promoting and strengthening Euro-Mediterranean mobility not only on projects level but also on political and istitutional level.
• In 2011 UNIMED supported the online petition to request the European Parliament and the European Commission to open the doors of Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci programmes for exchange in the Mediterranean region.
• Aim: establishing a Higher Education and Research Area in the Mediterranean region to strengthen the Mediterranean scientific and student community.

• On January 10th 2012 in the European Parliament in Brussels, during the Conference “Pour des programmes Erasmus et Leonardo da Vinci Euromed”, UNIMED handled to the European Commissioner Ms. Androulla Vassiliou, around 5.000 signatures collected during the petition for the adoption of a Euro-Mediterranean Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci programmes.

• Barcelona, October 2, 2012: UNIMED conference on “International cooperation in the Mediterranean Area – EU programs from 2014-2020 – UNIMED Network meets the European Commission: Dialogue on the new international cooperation framework"
• Rome, April 22-23, 2013: UNIMED Conference "Erasmus for the Mediterranean“ titled "Mobility of Students and Researchers as keyfactor of Internationalization of HE Institutions."
