SMAS User Password Protection - CST Lockbox
– Initial “smc” user and password is stored on the SMAS server in a
RSA-secured vault called the CST lockbox
– The CST lockbox is tied to CPUID and MAC of SMAS Server
– CST makes cloning a SMAS Server VMware template difficult
– Deploy SMAS Virtual Appliance when multiple SMAS instances are
required in a VMware environment
Additional local users can be created and assigned specific permissions
– These users and passwords are stored in CST
When creating additional users, SMAS can utilize existing LDAP andWindows AD environments authentication.
– LDAP and AD users are not stored in CST
– LDAP can be over SSL

– Verify that the performance registrations file is created on the Unisphere server at…/symapi/stp/spa

– Check to make sure the storstpd daemon is running. – Check to make sure the SMAS service is running. – Examine storstpd-<date>.log file and make sure it is sending data to SMAS server.
