History of DVI
Interpol viewed Casualty Bureau at their conference in 2001 and saw its potential as the Major Disaster Victim Identification tool
Casualty Bureau is half of HOLMES 2, the Nationally Accepted System, deployed to every Police Force in the UK
DVI incorporates Casualty Bureau as one quarter of its solution
Interpol have approved DVI as a Major Disaster Victim Identification tool

Exercise Poseidon 2
Comments from Dave Blackiston (MICAS PM) "Exercise Poseidon 2 involved a ferry arriving in
Harwich from Denmark. The multi-lingual capability of DVI would easily allow a Danish Call Centre to be set up in Denmark to feed caller and misper details directly into our Casualty Bureau."
"DVI was operated by people without any HOLMES 2 or DVI experience or training. They had no problem using DVI."
"Essex currently have 50 people trained as call takers. They each have two days initial training then one day refresher training per year. DVI will allow a substantial time and cost saving."

Roddy Ross (PITO) on DVI
"Over the last two years we have been looking for a solution to the technical issues with Mutual Aid. The DVI development has the potential to provide the solution and change the way we do business“.
"DVI will greatly reduce the need for training. Modularising HOLMES 2 on web pages puts operators in a familiar environment. Most people are very comfortable working on-line”.
