Station 01Newton’s Cradle

Directions:1.Release one marble, like shown in the picture. 2.Observe what happens.3.Repeat with two marbles, then three marbles.4.Observe what happens. 5.Now, release one marble again, this time do not touch the Newton’s Cradle for 2 minutes.6.Observe what happens.

Station 02Working Out?

Directions:1.Pick up the free weights and carry them around the classroom.2.Observe how you felt.3.Pick up the free weights and hold them above your head for 30 seconds.4.Observe how you felt.5.Lift the free weights up and down 10 times quickly. 6.Observe how you felt.7.Life the free weights up and down 10 times slowly.

Station 03Hand Generator

Directions:1.Use the various hand generators to make the lightbulb light up.2.Observe what you must do each time in order to have the hand generator work.3.Observe (without taking it apart) the insides of each hand generator. What similarities and differences do you notice?

Station 04Pogo StickDirections:1.Jump on the pogo stick and see if you can get 5 jumps in a row!2.Observe what you have to do in order to ensure you can continue jumping.3.How can you go higher once you are already on it?4.Have the most skilled person jump on the pogo stick for 1 minute.5.Touch the shiny metal base, what do you notice?

Station 05PendulumDirections:1.Hold weight up to Einstein’s nose. 2.Release the weight and observe.3.Reposition the weight at Einstein’s nose.4.Pull the weight away from his nose.5.Observe.6.How else could you RELEASE the weight and have it hit Einstein?

Directions:1.Observe all three bulbs. Observe the similarities and differences between them.2.If you haven’t already, place your hand carefully in front of each bulb (DO NOT TOUCH the bulbs!!!)3.Observe differences and similarities between the bulbs.
