Culture
•A culture is a way of life.
Culture includes language, religion, art, music, clothing, food, games and holidays.
America has many different cultures (immigrants) mixed which makes us have a richer life.
Immigrants are people who came from another country to live in America.
Heritage is a way of life, a custom, or a belief that has come from the past and continues today.
The symbols of the United States such as the American Flag, the Bald Eagle are part of our national heritage.

The United States is often called a Nation Of Immigrants because so many people from around the world live here.
Many place names of today have been influenced by different cultures, such as the American Indians.
Ex. Houma, LA is named after the Indian tribe the Houmas.
Historical Achievements of various cultures of the world:
*Pyramids of Egypt---built between 2,700 B.C. and 1,000 B. C. as royal tombs.*Founding of the Olympics---Greece organized the modern games to encourage world peace and friendship in 1896.*United Nations---international organization of countries created to promote world peace and cooperation. It was founded after World War II ended in 1849.
