You can use the

Present Perfect to

describe your

experience.

It is like saying, "I

have the

experience of..."

I have been to Japan.

I’ve never been in Japan.

Use the simple

past to describe

details of that

experience in the

past.

Of course! I met him when I

was ten.

The present perfect is formed from the

present tense of the verb have and the past
