Land relief
• This consists of the continents and islands.
• Some important features of this relief are:
• Mountain ranges
• Plains
• Depressions

• These are large groups of mountains spread over a wide area.
Mountain ranges
• Examples of mountain ranges include the Pyrenees and the Alps in Europe, the Andes in South America and the Rocky Mountains in North America.

Land relief
• These are large areas of flat land, sometimes found at high elevations. They form the largest part of continental land relief.
Plains
• Examples of plateaus are the Meseta Central and the European Plain in Europe and the Great Plains in North America.
• When located at high elevations, they are called plateaus.

• These are landforms that are sunken below the surrounding areas.
Depressions
• Examples of depressions include the Guadalquivir Depression and the Ebro Depression in Spain, the Turan Depression in Europe and Asia, and the Dead Sea Depression in the Middle East.
