New Door Code Access
In case you have not noticed, the church has a new keypad lock on the
east door. All those who need access to the building during non-office
hours & non-worship hours, have received a code from Sonia Stehr, a
property management member. Please do not share the code, or prop
open the door at any time. All those who will be using the building, will
be locking the door behind them when they leave. If you have any
questions in regards to the new door access, please call the church
office or Sonia Stehr at 507-269-3567. If you think you should have
an access code, but have not heard from Sonia, please contact her
immediately. Thank you for taking care of our church.

WELCA
WELCA Afternoon spring High Tea is in “high gear” planning stage. It was so much fun last year we are doing it again.
Consider helping by:
Decorating a table or two or three. As many as you like. Talk to JoAnn Ring about it.
Providing some dainty homemade goodies.
Helping in the fellowship hall or kitchen the day of the tea.
Sharing in the fun by buying tickets and bringing your mom, mother in law, daughters, friends, neighbors or anyone else you want. The more the merrier!
Date will be decided soon and tickets will be available from board members and at a couple of stores downtown. Keep alert for more information!
If you have any ideas for a program—call me 732-7297
Happy Spring,
Leah Wichmann Hinz
WELCA President

MARCH is FOOD SHARE MONTH — READY...SET...GO!
Our Zumbrota Area Food Shelf helps to provide food to many needy families every month. During March the money and food collected determines how much food they can get from Channel One Food Bank. Last year we challenged another church to see how much could be raised. (WE Won!) This year they declined. So this year we are going to challenge ourselves. Here is how: The congregation will be divided into 2 groups according to first letter of last names. A-L will be Team 1 M-Z will be Team 2
The challenge will begin on March 1 and end on March 31.
A pound of food will be a point and each dollar will be a point.
Boxes labeled team 1 or team 2 will be at each exit door of the church.
Food will collected each week and tallied at the food shelf according to each team.
Money can be given to me, the office, or put in the offering plate on Sunday. Be sure to mark it for Food Shelf.
LETS SEE IF WE CAN EXCEED LAST YEAR’S TOTAL!! At the end of March the team with the least points will host an ice cream social for the winning team!! Join the fun!! The real winners are the families who use the food shelf. We can be very proud of how we can help them. Now get busy everyone. Start stock piling. Little Kids, Big Kids, all grown ups. Lets do it!! P.S Dan Johnson is on both teams. He has a secret weapon to help. If you don’t know about it—talk to him or me. ~Leah Wichmann Hinz~
PROJECT 3R There are a number of ways to give to the Project 3R Fund:
You can put a separate check with ‘3R’ on the memo line with your regular
offering.
You can put a check in an envelope marked ‘Project 3R” in the offering plate.
You can mail or drop a check off at the office – just make sure to note that it is
for Project 3R.
You can access the automatic giving through the website at urlchurch.org.
Go to the ‘GIVING’ window and select MONEY. This takes you to the donation
page where you need to fill out all requested information and put Project 3R in
“Other Donations” description line.
If you want to keep things simple, you can e-mail the bookkeeper at
[email protected] and she can set up a one-time gift or a
reoccurring gift for you.
There will be special envelopes to help accommodate all of the above with a form to fill out available at the Feb 28th services for the URLC members’
convenience. If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a message at the office.
** The funds we have accumulated so far vs. the expenses the project requires, will be announced soon, keep your eyes peeled in the Sunday bulletin! **
