Leading researcher

The first line is devoted to the role of mitochondrial genotype in brain functions. We

provide experimental evidence for interactions between nuclear and mitochondrial

genes. We show a differential transcription of nuclear genes in brain structures. The

differential expression depends on the mitochondrial genotypes. A contribution of the

mitochondrial genotype on the morphology and metabolism of brain structures has

been demonstrated using volumetric and spectrometric IRM technologies.

The second line focusses on the development of mice models of Down syndrome

(Trisomy 21). We investigate the contribution of the genes that are located in the

critical region to brain and cognitive functions.

Collaborations

- exploration of motor abilities in dysferlinopathies

- motor behavior in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

- CNV analysis of autism.
