A specialist in post-World War II diplomatic history and the Cold War, Hogan succeeds President Stanley O. Ikenberry. A Midwest native, Hogan brings to the University experience from a four-decade career in public higher education that has included progressively senior administrative appointments at The Ohio State University and the University of Iowa before joining UConn in 2007. Created in 1952 to be a separate entity of the State of Illinois and is under the control of the Merit Board.

Establishes guidelines for professional conduct by those acting on behalf of the University including executive officers, faculty, staff, and other individuals employed by the University using University resources or facilities, and volunteers and representatives acting as agents of the University.

Review of the Code of Conduct is a requirement of the new hire orientation program in NESSIE and must be completed during the new hire process.

• State Officials and Employees Ethics Act (Ethics Act) requires all University employees to complete an ethics orientation at the time of hire.

State Officials and Employees Ethics Act (Ethics Act bans the solicitation and acceptance of gifts from prohibited sources to University employees, employee's spouse or immediate family.

Gifts are any gratuity, discount, entertainment, hospitality, loan, forbearance, or other tangible or intangible item having monetary value, including but not limited to, cash, food and drink, and honoraria for speaking engagements related to or attributable to government and employment or the official position of an employee, member, or officer.
